According to an article I read about WGT just now, site metrics show that WGT attracts "mostly 25- to 45-year-old males who make more than $100,000 a year". And yet the forums are clogged with furious comments about the exorbitant costs of maintaining a steady supply of quality balls.

So where's the truth here? Is WGT really a rich man's game, do only the frustrated penniless populate these forums, is the rich caste parsimonious when it comes to investments in online golf balls, or did the business analyst simply misinterpret site metrics, which actually reveal that WGT attracts mostly 25- to 45-year-old males who have a lack of money but a surpus of (free) time?

I don't know how they came up with that stat, but I sure don't fit into that category, I am broke just like Yankee-Jim, with lots of free time on my hands.

I certainly do't fit in that book either. I am so broke if horse chit was 10cents a pound I couldn't afford an ounce of dry farts.

Never spent a penny on this game have I. But rich people are more likely to enjoy it, with the very best clubs.

Even rich men like value for their money. The price of some balls goes beyond good value. Stick to the SDs, don't be sucked into the 155 credit quicksand :^)

I fit into that demographic, but I dont consider an initial investment of $20-50 ridiculous.  The hours of entertainment make this a low cost option for me.  Plus get good enough and live in certain areas you can make the dough to pay for the $.50 balls.

I can well imagine how they got that figure.

I bet there was a question on the surveys that people were getting free kit  to take. No issue with that but.....

    Question No 34

What earnings bracket do you fit in too?

    10k-20k

    20k-40k

    40k-60k

    60k-80k

    80k-100k

    100k +

    Answer

'****ed if I'm telling them that I'll just put down over 100k , doesnt matter anyhow.'

Lucky there was no answer over 1 million or we would all be millionaires

    Pure Genius
