Dear WGT...I am 100% positive that absolutely no one has told you this yet...but, in a multi player game, if you check the stats of any other player...you get the scorecard and the game over info....Shocked??? so was I...I mean, I'm sure no one has reported this yet....except maybe.....everyone......not like you've known about it for a few months and just sat on your azzes and done nothing about it.....right?.  Here's an ground breaking idea...instead of "maintenance"....how about repairs?....brilliant right?....

Same happened to me about a month or so ago. I stopped checking after that. It has been mentioned/reported several times.

It should be able to be fixed. The disconnect problems can't and won't ever be fixed w/o spending a tidy sum of $$$. The click on profile-kill the game bug is in the programming. The disconnect issue is 100% server related.

Crap...when I saw the title, I immediately opened it to find out what the "brand new glitch" was....like you, and many others, I am getting tired of the same glitches all the time...frustrating as they continue to be....guess I will have to be patient and wait for the next WGT update for the "new and improved" glitches to show up....sigh

I haven't finished an alt shot game for 2 days. Its either me or my partner disconnecting 3 times or it our opponents. If you can't fix this problem then at least allow more disconnects before booting the game and don't give us that lame excuse its to prevent players trying to bore another player to win a game. Its your incompetence period causing this problem. Stop giving us what we don't want or need and fix the frigging game.

Why would any of this really matter when we have so many of these wonderful clashes full of gr8 prizes like pumpkin tees and flags.  We should all just get involved in them. forget about multi-player games and collect as many of the childish prizes that are available.

WGT has programming on the servers too Jay!

Did it actually end the game, or was it just the display showing up at the wrong time and the game continued as normal?  If it's the latter, then that's not something they're going to jump to fix immediately since it's not critical to playing and completing a game.

    Annoying? Yes.  Critical?  Nah.

It's called triage.  You can only do so much in a release cycle, so you fix what you can while still satisfying the investors with forward progress and new features.  You guys forget WGT has bosses that want to see consistent ROI.  They contributed a lot more to the game than any of us have, and as stupid as it might sound, WGT has to answer to those guys first and foremost, and the user base comes second.

Otherwise the investors pull out and the game goes kaputz.  That's just the sad state of software development nowadays (and it's everywhere, not just here).  It's not that WGT doesn't care about you, it's generally the stakeholders who don't care about the customers.  Instead they see "customer satisfaction" in terms of profit & loss.  WGT has to try to make both factions happy, and that's not an easy task to undertake.

Stakeholders/Investors want to be impressed, not watch their investment get stale.  To them, you get more money from new features than you do fixing old ones.  There is never going to be a purely "bug fix release". Investors just won't stand for that.

I was told exactly the same thing at my job (large online sports apparel retailer).  There's so many bugs on the website that just won't ever be fixed.  With the notable exception of medical software, this is fairly normal.

It baffles me when people say "WGT is just in it for the money."  Of course they are, this isn't a non-profit operation and they have people to answer to.  If they weren't in it for the money there wouldn't be a WGT.  I've seen games that are just simply cash farms, opening up new servers daily just to cash on that new server rush.  WGT is nothing like that.

Can someone tell me where exactly are all these for-profit businesses that aren't in it for the money?

I'm not so sure of that.  When I lived in a cheap motel using greatly-shared wi-fi, I would see this issue virtually anytime I clicked on someone's profile.  Disconnects were very frequent as well.  Now that I'm in an apartment with my own dedicated wi-fi, I only experience the problem with maybe 1 in 100 profile clicks.  Far less disconnects on my end as well.  Just saying....

No one has an issue with profit.  Were I a stakeholder I would maximum bang for buck.  Were I potential investor I would look at the downturn in new business also*......Were I WGT I would also be looking at that business downturn, and I would be trying to address that.

Negative:  It's a golf site, if you can't play a round (multiplay) there is no point.

What the users are saying is fix the flippin bugs, not just stuff around with add ons especially when the add on is a pumpkin.  If I were WGT I would be listening to the users whilst they are still here to listen to.

    * Assumes there is a downturn per a different thread.  Can't see there would not be with all the bugs / glitches plaguing the end user experience.

EDIT: They get away with it to the extent they do only because they are the only serious ship afloat.  Precarious looking position to a new investor (just from what I can see), and precarious is always bad for the balance sheet (always).  In fairness no one else has even fired a serious shot at that precarious ship.  Also no one is saying what they have is necessarily easy to fix, but neither is their business looking like it's going North the way they want either.

I would add I am talking mainly multiplay, but that's also a chunk for the site both in itself and as a keep people for other aspects I would think.  WGT can ignore it, but the business trender does not seem to be.  I should also add that I address the issues as I see it them for where the game / product is at now.

That's not correct. There's a whole world of single play that generates a lot more money than multiplay.  Skins and Match play bring in a 10% vig.  That's nothing.  Meanwhile 100 RGs and brackets are being completed every day.  The money for them, simply, is not in multiplay.

What I'm saying is that is not how it works, anywhere.  I explained above how it works.  I'm not defending anyone, just trying to add a perspective that isn't just "me me me".
