Did it actually end the game, or was it just the display showing up at the wrong time and the game continued as normal?  If it's the latter, then that's not something they're going to jump to fix immediately since it's not critical to playing and completing a game.

    Annoying? Yes.  Critical?  Nah.

To answer....in a blitz...it outright ends the game...and affects your completion ratio (not that this is anything I'm overly concerned with)...In a stroke or alt shot...it boots you with the chance to rejoin...so, although not critical...add this to a "cannot load" disconnect to an "unexpected error"...and you are now out of the game...if that's skins---sucks to be you...if that's alt shot...sucks to be the other 3 players.

I think part of the bigger issue is.....this didn't exist in the past...neither did the chat box issues, etc, etc....is it unreasonable to expect that when an update" breaks other parts of the game, that they would resolve it asap...instead of creating more CC clashes or vapor trail farting balls or other useless shite that no one ever asks for.

From the investors perspective, yeah it is.  WGT still has to do what the investors want, first.  Then comes a few bug fixes with whatever time is left over.  This is where triage comes in "what can we get done this month given the time we have left after the investor stuff is done."  Usually that's a matter of a couple of days.  Software development deadlines are extremely tight, and the investors like to load you (the project manager) up with stuff that takes 35-40 days to complete, but they want it done in 30.  Investors/stakeholders generally don't have a sense of what that actually requires or what needs to happen to get it done.  They just want it done.

There was a video I saw once that showed an interaction between a developer, an investor and the project manager.  The investor says, "Ok, what I want you to do is draw three parallel lines in blue ink, but one of them should be green."  The developer then explains, in futility, why you cannot draw green lines with a blue pen. That's the kinda "we don't really know what's truly going on" response you get from the higher-ups.  It's not their job to know small picture stuff.  They're looking at big picture.

As such the regression fixes get put off for lack of time.

If you have the figures on single play then fair enough.  If as a business multiplay really does have not enough impact then fair shout.

What the users are saying is fix the flippin bugs, not just stuff around with add ons especially when the add on is a pumpkin

What I'm saying is that is not how it works, anywhere.  I explained above how it works.  I'm not defending anyone, just trying to add a perspective that isn't just "me me me".

Any business I have known you must have a good core product, and staying on a course is certainly core.  Now if multi-play is not part of the core fair enough.  However, if the slowing down thread is right something is happening.  I do wish WGT well, but it's my take on what is wrong or maybe that downturn is misguided as a measure and business is flourishing as they wish.

No, no figures.  Just a bit of an educated guess, but I think it's ballpark-ish.  I certainly understand the frustration.  Imagine trying to change viewpoints from the inside out.  That's truly an exercise in futility.

With respect that's not really cutting it.

EDIT: Nothing wrong with stating your opinion though.  We are all guessing to that extent, I would think, as to exactly what is happening.

I would disagree.  The evidence is there just looking at the number of completed RGs, tournaments and brackets every day.  Plus I know some stuff, but can't speak as to why.  Those who know who I am will understand. =)

I know some stuff too............ Not directly WGT related I hasten to add, but been involved in enough losses and studied enough balance sheets in my time:)...I was not the cause of the losses btw lol, just replacing that income hopefully quickly and efficiently in a fair manner.

EDIT: I disagree about the RGs and brackets BTW as a good enough guide in itself - too crude a yardstick for this now finer discussion.  Opinions without enough facts I also agree from me.  That slowing down thread was interesting though.

I found it.  Check this out:

Obviously this is tongue-in-cheek and a tad extreme, but it's an accurate representation of the general disconnect that occurs between various levels of higher-ups, project managers, and the drones who carry out the orders.

    Yay, corporate nonsense.

All corps have business issues and communication is upper most much of the time as to how to improve, and so is file keeping in a proper manner etc etc.....We all know that part.

Anyway I do enjoy the single play, and just wish the multi - play could resolve, and I know some love multiplay loads.  The actual link never worked for me btw (edit see you reposted and the vid does work).

EDIT: If you had some real serious comparables between RG turnover in similar periods over a couple of years that would be useful.  Even then it would not in itself reveal what was happening in multiplay, but better than what we have.  Anyway my vote stands at up the end user experience for multiplay as a good start point, and just my vote.
