uploading pictures

  @Gary, I just wanted to make certain that Vincent is using the correct procedure for changing his profile picture before we start any investigation into 'missing pictures'. A bit like making sure there's petrol in the car before dismantling the engine because it won't start.

  I know that I think about or interpret things in a different way to others, and to some people that makes them think I'm either stupid, or a genius, so you'll have to forgive me if what I do or say seems odd. But if Vincent comes back and says that he did things the same way as I have done in my video then we can forget about my cockeyed ideas and pursue your line of thought.  : )

   

  No problem Scott.  My comments weren't directed at anyone really.  I just wanted to make sure I was interpreting correctly what I was reading, and was not confusing the subject with unneeded information.

  Stupid and Scott don't even belong together.

  Thanks guys for you're help i used to be able to go i choose from different pictures for my profile picture its gone i tried  a different browser and went from my laptop to my   desktop nothing i talk to icon he said it might be a picture the was inappropriate for the site but it was either a M  or  D for Detroit ????????  im lost on these one been on here since 2007 never had anything like this before thanks

  Vincent, lets forget about changing your profile picture for a moment. Can you find the picture you are looking for, anywhere on your computer, by any method?

  Now it looks like Scott is getting what Vincent has been saying. He most likely accidentally deleted the folder that the pictures were on. If that is the case try looking in your recycle bin.The folder and all of its contents might be there.

  Here's an idea...

   

  Right-click the image and click save image as...  

  Maybe you'll get lucky and find your other pictures when it pulls up the default save location?

  Have you tried a files search.   Maybe just search for  .jpg  and see if anything pops up.

  This is what it actually looks like before the upload to WGT, before the upload of the boat.

  Sorry, I am not as adept as Scott with red circles and arrows.

  Without the pictures on my computer, I would have never been able to do what I just did.

  So Yeah, you have deleted/moved something.  All of this is on win7.  You mentioned different computers.  The pics would have been stored on only 1 of them, so looking for the pics elsewhere will not do you any good.  Figure out where they are stored, if still there, then maybe some headway can be made to get them back.

  Another question.  By chance you didn't just upgrade to win10 did you.  That might be the answer to the problem if not done correctly.

  WGT only stores the most recent picture upload.  Icon's comment meant nothing.  Yes, if it was inappropriate and deleted, then you would have no pic(greyed out pic) there until you uploaded another

  Even tho I have deleted most of the above from my computer they will still continue to show. On the other hand if I go to my upload site and delete them, I believe they will disappear Hopefully that was not the only place you had the pics.

  Have done a bit of searching around.  OP may not be totally at fault for this.  WGT needs to fess up to what they have done.  From another forum discussion I had listed some players ID numbers and how to find them.  As recent as 10/2015 you could look at players activity on their profile as far back as 2008.  That was a way to see some of the oldest player names to search for.  Right now I looked at a number of players including some that I looked at during the other post and all only go back as far as Aug 2015.  Maybe this was part of 1 of the recent maintenance.

  EDIT 11/6 am.. I misspoke on the above.  The wall posts is what I used and I can still see back to 2008 on some.  Unsure at this point if activity changed at all.

  I also tried changing my profile pic and then deleting the pic from my computer.  The pic still showed on my profile.  I have seen it before, when WGT deletes a profile pic it leaves a greyed out pic of really nothing but an outline.  The OP has a pic on his profile, that according to his activity he did not upload.

  WGT dumped his pic, don't know why, and then added one of the generic pics for new players. I know the 1 he has is not the 1 I had when first joined.  As far as where his pics are, I still believe they have been moved/deleted from his computer, or would be a simple process to reupload.  Virus, malware, even CCCleaner scans can delete things you don't want to if you don't pay real close attention.

  Vincent, another thing to check is.  The folder that you think has the pics in, make sure down at the bottom it says all files.  The pic Hpurey posted was a gif.  When I went to save it changed the file type to gif's.  Since it changed it to that it did not show any of my jpg's, so it looked like the folder was empty.

  that's what i think what has happen they dumped my pictures i didn't have anything to make them do this that's the only thing i can think that happen
