Hello fellow golfers.  I took a little break and just recently decided to give it a go again.  I'm looking at investing in some clubs.  I had 400 cr in my account so I picked up the L19 Spider putter but I'm thinking that I need to buy some irons.  What do you guys think?  I'm up for all options.  Should I grab irons first or pick up a better driver?  What are the cheapest balls that I can buy to improve my game?Feel free to view my equipment on my profile.

    Thanks everyone.

You are hitting from the TP tees, so I think ur driver is fine for now. You can buy cheap cally balls for $2.50 per sleeve and they are good for the price. Srixons also aren't bad and they can be had for $1.80 per sleeve. You are using starter irons, so I would concentrate on getting better irons.

By looking at your equipment, stats and tier, in my opinion, I think your driver is fine. I would upgrade your irons. To keep the irons the same meter speed as your driver, I think the TaylorMade R11 irons at L32 would be a good fit. It might be a good idea to upgrade your other wedge also. As far as balls, if the speed of the meter is OK with you, using the current balls you are using, keep using them or the Srixon Z-Stars for 200 credits. Or you can buy the L34 Cally's.

It depends on how much you want to spend. Spent right, less than $50 will set you up for a long time with decent equipment.

I would start with wedges, to include dropping the HB and getting a 3rd one. Get 3 that match-64W, 60W and 56W. Learn all the shot types with them and you'll see your scores drop in a hurry. A decent ball will help but you don't have to go for the expensive ones. The ones CT mentioned are good values but without decent clubs you'd be wasting your money.

I think the wedges are more important than the irons if you have to make a choice. When you do go for irons, look for High lofted ones. There's a MAX set at your level that looks like it might last you quite a while for $30. With 3 CG wedges you're in for $45-less than  a dinner out- and I'd bet you could make Legend with that setup.  :-)

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll start saving up for some irons and I'll drop that HB for a wedge as well.

you could also display a pic of a scantily clad bikini bunny, change your name to misti, or bambi, or barbi,  and lonely guys will gladly gift you clubs and balls...that's a strategy employed by many on here, and it seems to work....lol

Sadly the exact same technique works in the IT field.  Got a programming problem?  Create a new user on a forum and put an innocent looking hottie in your profile pic.  Post a question with tons of XOXOXOXO.....boom 400 replies in an hour.

I was hoping that me with a beautiful largemouth bass would be enough for people to start throwing equipment at me.  :)
