Buy 2 packs of legend balls instead....

LOL. You get the Callaways for the same price .1 pack of Legend balls=120 credits.

    The Callaways are 300 a pack but last 2 1/2 times longer. 120 x 2 1/2 = 300.  Even cheaper if you go for the 250 Callaways.  Just don't lose them.  :-)

A 2-dot ball lasts 120 hits. A 1-dot ball lasts over 90 hits. My guess is 2.5-dot means 130-140 hits. I wish someone can find the exact number and tell me I'm wrong. But I think Wgt is playing trick with the dots. Buyers be aware.

Nah... they've just adjusted the VEM to mysteriously pull the new Callaway ball towards water and tall rough...

    [It's a joke]

    MJS74:

    MioKontic:
Why should the best be available to legends only????  In real golf all equipment is available to EVERYONE.

    MJS74:

In real life in tournaments everyone plays off the same tees in all tournaments.

I beg to differ!  If you played in a ProAm you will find that the pro's are way back compared to us amateurs.  And they still beat us hands down!

    MJS74:

That doesn't happen here.  Legends tee off 50-60 yards behind everyone else.

I accept that some legends aren't really legends as they were upgraded one night in September from what I've read.  But those who have got there legitimately, I presume you got there because you are good.  That is, you can get the ball close and sink putts.  So, you go back a few yards.  Does that now mean you can't hit your approach shots straight or putt?

    MioKontic:
If you want to be the best, then prove you're the best on equal terms

    MJS74:

See, you agree the idea of teeing off from different tees is stupid.

Or do different tees count as equal terms in your world?

I think I've already answered that above.  However, have you played the USGA Championship at Oakmont?  Everyone is playing off the same tees.  Are you being beaten by anyone who is less than legend?

Sorry for the bold text, but as I was inserting my answers after your statements/questions, I just wanted to make them seen.

I got 2 18 hole rounds 2 9 hole rounds 2 alt shot rounds + about 4 restarts on the Oakmont Virtual open tourney. The best I can with my Tour GI-S balls is like 27 holes. So these balls really last.

Professional golfers play golf for a living, it is their job. If they couldn't beat amateurs they should find another way to earn their crust. A ridiculous comparison to playing WGT.

If you think that is a justifiable answer you know absolutely nothing about golf......or physics.

Pro-ams are not where Pro's earn money, at least not the ones you were citing in an earlier post.

     1) 50 yards is more than a few yards it's 4 clubs on average.

    2) With the margin for error WGT builds of c5%, a perfect shot is going to be c2.5 yds wider than from the forward tees.  Therefore, no you cannot hit shots as straight, the game is designed that way.

    3) The fact is that it is not possible to stop a 6 iron in the same way you can a pitching wedge, meaning that the vagaries of slope and green speed come into play all the more.  Meaning that instead of 5-6 foot putt one is likely to have a 20-25 foot putt.  Have you ever met/heard of/seen anyone who is as good from 20ft as they are from 5?

I guess now that the ready go's are against only in your tier it makes sense for wgt to cash in on expensive balls. But why not take the legend label off of the crap legend balls instead of offering even better balls to practical newbies that wont be able to handle the spin? To me and I think many others the fun in this game isn't the ready go's but competing with friends on a somewhat level playing field. The durability of the new balls make the crap legend balls more expensive than the calloways too.

What really ticks me off is the slow meter speed. I can see spending for I 15's to speed it up but I wouldn't because no wedges are available with the ultra fast meter speed. On the other hand a more precise putter than the daytona is thinkable now. All this sweating over a fast meter and now wgt seems to be going against the basics of what was a winning formula in challenge and fun.

I was going to take the game seriously again and invest in legend balls again once I was able to buy the 280 yard driver, but now I'll buy the calloways and just play a lot less and just for fun. It seems like I have a lot better things to do now anyway since I've taken up bridge.

    WGTicon:

There is 1 thing you all fail to consider: you all assume that these are the last balls that we will offer, ever...

    -wgticon

There are a lot of empty dot spaces to fill. Freak us all out wgt. No more buying of over one sleeve of ball for me! They just get trumped and your bag gets so heavy with balls your caddy thinks you are as tired out as him and tells you to play two extra clubs lol.
