After forking out nearly DOUBLE than legend balls for the "so called" Galway, WGT's BEST ball, i'm left reeling that the fact WGT are starting to take advantage of us loyal customers just to make money!.

I enterd, a tournament with these new balls, using my legend balls as a distance marker yardage wise as they both have 3 notches for distance.  Every shot came up short, they're more like 2 notch distance-tour balls than 3 notch legend balls. Some shots came up a WHOLE club lengh short! RIDICILOUS when they're advertised as same distance as legend balls!

Another withdrawn Ready Go due to games inconsistancy! BEWARE not as good as LEGEND balls for distance...SAVE YOUR MONEY, buy 2 packs of legend balls instead

do you think this was happening because of the spin?  Just curious, as I have not purchased them as of yet.

    cheers,

No, a wedge shot will land near hole with legend balls, maybe spin back a yard or 2 if you use full back spin, i've learnt the extra few yardage they give, but these balls were landing well short any way, and would go even further back if you used back spin (but no difference in spin as legend balls either!) Seing as they're advertised the same distance, they were more like 2 notch tour balls at best!

Its just a pure and utter rip off to make people pay DOUBLE for balls that arn't even as good as legend balls...BUY at your own RISK! An exapmple, i was 94 yards to hole on St Andrews #7, 18 mph headwind, usually (with legend balls) a touch under full power gets me to within 2/3 yards of pin, i work out aprox 5 yards +/- per 10 mph wind.  With the Galway ball this shot, with 105 yard came up 17 yards short of the 94, giving me a total shot of 77 yards with a 105 wedge with 18 mph headwind??? When my legend balls would have given me 95 yards....This kind of thing (nearly being a club short, was happening all round.)

That extra backspin should have it fly less AND spin more once it hits. Always been that way in this game, so no real surprises.

But surely this should only apply if you USE the backspin, because i wasn't. But i did use b/spin on the par 3, 11th. The pin was by the bunker 162 yards, (st ands), i used 160 yard iron and there was 20 mph tailwind, my ball only travelled 148 yards, so you can either not use backspin and fly past hole, or use b/spin and come up a club lengh short, so by buying these balls for DOUBLE the price, its going to ruin your game...STICK with legend balls folks (once again).

But could it be the fact it was a ready go that made round inconsistant, and not the balls??

After playing 2 rounds with them, if you compensate for lost yardage due to b/spin, they've started to grow on me, they stop 8 irons dead. But at 250/300 a pack, its 3$ for 6 rounds, and to say WGT are advertised as a free game! 100 million rounds = 100 million players spending $ on balls (without clubs included)..You work the maths!!!!

Now I don't know much about much, but I know how to read the dots on a ball. There is a lot more spin, feel and durability with the Callaway. For those dudes who seem to have unlimited credits (The kind of AvatarLee guy (No offence Lee)) they're perfect.

Played a fellow Legend, both hit the ball the same spin wise off the tee, callaway is longer. The difference is not mind blowing , but longer none the less. The carry is where it's noticeable, ball gets way up in the air. I was using reg. Legend ball. JB
