    • Re: Putting scale

I have seen that link, but the problem is not the putting distance. It is the scale that sometimes makes it impossible to reach to the hole. When 100% stroke only goes 25 ft and the hole is 30 away I have a problem. I enjoy playing, and my honnour to WGT for making the game, but I read it so that they like suggestions on the play from players. I too...

    • Re: Who wrote the physics engine for this dog?

Welcome to the forums, Will. 1.) Yeah I gotta agree with you on the rough bit. Slightly sticky. Maybe if this was the US OPEN then I could understand it. 2.) Putting needs to be looked at for sure. We had a discussion about phantom lipouts just the other day. 3.) Your meter on chips and pitches is exponential, not linear. Hitting any chip or pitch less...

    • Re: Hill indications

Hi kirkwagner, yes, red means downhill and blue means uphill. We hope you keep at it because you will improve. We are working on a series of tutorials, and putting is on the list. In the meantime, check out the forum--there are a lot of tips and suggestions being shared here about putting, and we'd love to hear from you too. http://www.wgt.com/forums...

    • Re: Couple of questions...

For putting tips you can check out THIS THREAD . The colors on the green indicate elevation change. Black is flat, blue indicates an uphill swing and red indicates downhill. The white dots show you which direction the green is breaking. The faster the white dots move, the faster the break in that particular section. The info in box just tells you how...

    • Re: Practice Tips?

You really want to listen to those two ( Avatarlee and Nivlac ). I've been playing since Feb. and finally shot a 30 on the back 9 today. I still never hit the perfect mark everytime, but learning to deal with your second shot is half of the game. Once you get that under control the putting game is next. Most of all, just enjoy playing this wonderful...

    • Re: I want some free clubs.

Truth67: i hope you are not refering to me in your post "spin" alot of people call me that. Anyhow I agree 100% with what you said! I cant see how people think everything should be free and no money should be solicited from the players by WGT, we all have the option not to buy clubs no matter if they fly the ball as far as we think they should...

    • Re: short putts to hard

If you search you will find where I ranted about 3 putts from 10 feet all the time. I was told to practice. And that is what i did. I can only do so well because I do not have the hand eye ability of a lot of players on this game. But you now cannot put me in front of a twenty foot putt that I feel I cannot make. What is the difference, practice. The...

    • Re: How to properly use chips and pitch clubs: A guide

Thanks Iconian for the awesome tips...... I have been doing some practice with that pitching more than chipping before reading this and this is excellent. Now about the hitting the Ding thing...lolol... my problem is that when you hit dead center on the excellent , it pulls your shot, or if you moved for instance, your aim point left of target, to compensate...

    • Putting Tip: Distance Control

PLEASE NOTE : This tutorial was written for the Starter/Tour Starter putter. The actual distances, ranges and "movements" covered within may vary with your favorite flatstick, but the application of the formula remains the same. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The ability to putt well is the most...

Ya putting is really tough. When there is a black squares around the flag stick when you're putting, that means its up hill so you should hit the ball hard. If there are red squares, its down hill and you shouldn't hit it as hard. If there are blue squares, it means its level and you hit it not to hard or soft. Also, if there are little dots on the squares and they are all going 1 direction, its showing the slopes (brakes) on the green so you would want to aim the opposite direction the dots are going. Also, a big key to putting his hitting the ball perfect (the smallest box in the hitting meter). If you get good at hitting the ball perfect, you will be a really good putter.

As far as I'm aware, the site is completely digital, environmentally sound (sun perpetually shining, etc.), and no sheets of paper get wasted during gameplay at all. Buy and buy, you get used to putting eccentricities.

I always hit it just a bit more than what "I feel I need too", and I rarely use the aiming cursor to set the line (unless it is a huge break), I just hit right or left of "excellent". Red is downhill, blue is uphill and black always gets a little more than needed. I still get the "4.0 in. left" putt occasionally, but using this method has improved my scores quite a bit. Use the quick play, stroke play in practice mode and it will not count against your handicap.......
