The clash attracts extremely limited participation from CCs because it fails to capture imagination.  This is because its a pass buying exercise that has really nothing to do with skill.

The threads used to reach 100 pages but less bother now.  Inevitable a few comments will persist  I think that is out of frustration that WGT continually fail to provide inter CC tourneys  that have skill involved.

I do not agree with knocking others but most do not do that.  Wondering why anyone would go for it is OK, but knocking the decision is different I do agree.  I have not read every comment in this thread BTW so not aimed at anyone who mentioned the G apart from Vandas...Also not against Vandas, just what I see / perceive.

So in summary; GET OVER YOURSELVES.

    Dan

Folk are having a go mainly at WGT for the sh!t event. The nations cup and other events created by club members are the best tournaments on WGT (IMO). Your club defends it as you are one of very few who play in it. You seem to have lots of red tee easy XP tounaments as well but as you say, its what happens in your club so have fun. Be careful though as im sure in future there maybe some inter cc event you may wish to enter, no red tees but at least you will have your "golden putters"

    In summary, GET OVER YOURSELVES

Mr. Van  I don't speak for everyone and I never said I did .  And I don't think I was attacking anyone or any club , I don't care if you play in the CC events or not .  I think the CC events makes WGT look bad and frankly I am kind of embarrassed  for them ,  Its sad .

To be fair Bubbsboy, 3 of the first 5 comments on this thread were aimed at the Georgian so i think it's fair to say that this thread started with the theme of club bashing hence my initial comment.

Secondly; Of 17 currently running CC tournaments, 6 are on red tee's and are free tournaments to enable players to play a quick round and benefit from the maximum XP's available from their free pass on their first round of the day. I doubt we're alone in this strategy.

And finally, I don't think we need to be careful, with 13 Champions (one currently in the top ten of year earnings on WGT) and 54 Tour Legends, I think we have the players to compete in whatever format. Would we win, who knows but I think I can speak for most of the Georgian to say we'd give it a hell of a go. Just wish WGT would come up with a format to do it... I fear we'll both be long dead and burried before that happens however :)

    Agreed. Carry on...

"... what I will say is I find it a bit sad that it's always the same few (namely the person who started this thread) that continously post comments about the Clash and believe that they are speaking for the entire WGT community. Fine, don't like the Clashes; Fine, don't like the Georgian for winning; Fine, don't play in the Clashes yourselves and tell your own CC not to if you want; But you DO NOT speak for everyone, merely yourselves."

Speaking for myself, I don't like the clashes because of the format (I don't care who wins them).  The point is, and has been, that as long as they are supported by a few of the larger clubs WGT will do nothing to improve them.

"... do you not have anything better to do??"

    Not at the moment.

"I see it's flaws, its hard not to, but I don't begrudge people who CHOOSE to play in it."

Again, if they stopped playing in it WGT would (maybe) change it.

"I couldn't give two hoots what people do with their money. I also don't care what you all do in your CC's either, merely continue to play my game in my CC on my terms.'

If what others are doing affects my experience I care about it.

"So in summary; GET OVER YOURSELVES."

    Never !

Not really expecting to change anyone's opinion, just adding my voice to the "few".

    .....

When one feels obliged to justify this is that it has something to answer for.:)

Edit, just a word about red tees,  thank you not take us for idiots, red tees are designed to enhance the player's personal statistics, average and tier, if you want XP for the CC better is to do triple bogey than easy birdies and eagles on each hole. Of course all CC do that. What explain how in a few days so many TL became champion.

As a Georgian member, I too am sick of these clashes. The most recent event has our Level 19 club of 243 members vs a single digit Level club with 80 members. Seriously! This is nothing but a money grab and, after having read these threads during past Clashes, I have decided not to throw my money to WGT during these events. Eventually, more of our members may see this as the money grab and non-competitive event that it really is and also stop feeding money to the WGT monster... but that sparkle of gold is soooo enticing to several members.
