I believe Shoe has gotten it fixed already. Thanks Shoe!

There's a new link (which I've updated everywhere on the opening page and prior posts), and the game client and tourney calendar list should now point to correct, working version.

Please let me know if there are any problems. (I can't test it myself as I'm in the middle of a round with 'fancy clubs')

Thank you everyone for your posts, and sorry for the inconvenience :)

**** Revised LEADERBOARD & ENTRY LINK is here ****  (fixed 11am 12/10) and game client tourney should now be correct as well.

Ahh, darn it.. I accidentally took pictures of my starter 3W, 3H, LW and SW on the first tee... I did not do this on purpose! I am sorry. Can I still participate for prizes in this tournament? I have also pictures of my scorecard and stats.

    Corwyn,

Thanks for starting this tournament.  These types of tournaments are a blast.  I started this tournament from the main game client as I normally do.  I switched all my clubs to starter clubs, as is typical for these tough-it-out tournaments.  It wasn't until after I finished my round with a good score that I checked out the tournament listing on the website.  This is when I discovered that we were supposed to take a screen shot.

Just curious, what is the purpose of a screen shot, if the game client won't even let you start the game until only starter clubs are equipped?  There should probably be a note in the game client that either tells us to look at the forums before starting the tournament, or that you must take a screen shot.  I ended the game before I read about the screen shot requirement.

    Thanks again!

Because the programming is not robust enough and certain non-starter club combinations can make it through into the tournament. There is a Tournament Rule link in the game client, and the Prizes link takes you to the same info. Nothing to stop anyone enjoying the whole tournament with or without screenshots, but prizes will only come with screenshots to prevent abuse.

    Hi rowlets,

I'm glad you enjoy these events, and I'm sorry that you only discovered the information about the club proof requirements after you'd finished your round. Unfortunately, that's pretty much the situation we're stuck with: I post a Forum Thread in advance hoping people will see that, and put it prominently on the Leaderboard hoping people might view that before finishing their rounds... but for most players, I fear it ends up being the once bitten, twice shy rule, and that one knows to do it the following month.

I have forwarded your suggestion of an in-game note on to Shoe. However, I suspect such in-game notes are only available for everyone present in the game client in any mode of play, and not restrictable to one particular tourney.

The reason why we ask for screenshots or video proof of clubs used is that, sadly, the Club Restriction Programming doesn't work as it's supposed to.

Please see this post that I've just added from a prior event which hopefully will explain all.

    Thanks,

    Corwyn

Edit: Thanks Mags, for stepping in with an explanation too... while I was in the middle of my interrupted reply

I just finished the first round (used starter everything) not worried about prizes , i knew i stood no chance of winning anything:o) so no proof available

was fun and frustrating at same time. only managed 1 bird 3 par (reached maximum shots par3 hole 6) had 37putts only made green in regulation 5 times.  was +20 on front 9 but only +9 on back 9 (finished +29) sand saves 0%, scrambling 0%

in the end it showed me in 89th place well off the pace of the leaders

With shots like this replay.aspx?ID=8866aebc 72b7 48b5 9cb1 a56b00c367ea, the slower swing boost looked appealing after so many huge ping misses !  -_-

Thank you guys for the explanation!!  It really isn't a big deal at all.  I was just curious.  I did not realize the limitations of the programming.  I never even thought to try different combinations.  I guess I just enjoy trying to see how well I do when I actually use the clubs specified.  I still can't comprehend how some folks enjoy cheating the system.  I guess there are always going to be a select few that get a kick out of achieving something undeserved through cheating.

    Thanks again!
