As far as meter speeds go ... I would like to see the drivers having the fastest meter ...

Then the meters becoming progressively slower, from 3 wood down to hybrids, irons, wedges ...

and down to the putter which should have the slowest meter.

It would be closer to the swings used in real life golf ...

    +1

mabye the PGA "tour"  pro's can give it a real rip off the tee w/ their driver! but for the the average player from driver to your 56* wedge TEMPO is the real key! there's a saying i really like, swing easy & accept the extra yardage :)   ..

Yeah, I agree ... tempo is the key. You can have a good tempo at any swing speed. Watch tour pros hit their wedges compared to their drivers. Major difference ... it pays to slow your swing speed as your shaft length decreases. Iron shots and wedges require quite a bit more precision in shotmaking than a driver does unless you're using an iron just for raw distance like off a tee to a fairway or laying up on a par five. And your putter requires the most precison.

"And your putter requires the most precision"

...exactly the reason I often tee off with my putter...I've learned it's important to find the fairway..:)
