Having come 3rd in Event#14 we have the opportunity to select a new B O par 3 course. The obvious  new holes will be our selection with no Cabo  or Whistler (as recommended by WGT)  I think this a great opportunity to create 2 courses new that count on average and incorperate our latest   additional courses. Get rid of B O P 3s and par 5s to create a mixture of the top 3 clubs  selections. look forward to your replies. cheers. 4 x par 5s  and 2 pars 3 would ive par 73 lovin it

To be honest, I think it is pretty much a waste of programmers time and effort.

Best of courses are fun for playing alt or m/p occasionally, but will not increase revenue by increased ball sales. Add to this, the exclusion on Oakmont (contractual reasons I believe) you will never have a fair representation of a "best of" course.

I have never played the best of 3's but best of 5's can be fun in a CC Eagles only event - otherwise they are pointless.

I would rather have the programmers spend their time fixing the untold bugs and stability issues, and then produce a "new" course.

To me it is glaringly obvious that Pebble B9 has been held back and nothing else new is in the pipeline. Sad times ahead if all we get is a rehash of a stale idea.

Ok, can you show me the positives, and how will the company benefit, and what benefits will the players get from this.

I am being realistic from a business viewpoint and from the players perspective, where there are greater issues than rehashing something that actually works. Could it be improved? Yes of course but there are no tangible benefits for the company or the players.

The solution would be to first create a stable platform, so players do not get disconnected and thus stop playing as much or at all. That would far outweigh another half baked idea. Then if the company wants to increase revenue, new courses spur players to play.

Players have offered a ton of alternatives to WGT failures like Clashes, CC Levels etc. but they fall on deaf ears, and I was offering my point of view....not that we get listened too.

alanti- It was a benefit to the company already. Dangling that design reward out there may have been a great motivator to many players and CCs to get them to spend even more on Event 14. For someone to say they had a hand in designing a "Best of" course just might be enough to get them to stick around or play a little more. A good marketing tool and financial benefit.

I don't play enough to run into the same volume of problems that others seem to have here so I will agree with you (and most posters here) that it is more important long-term to fix the glitches.

Likewise, more actual courses instead of more fantasy courses would definitely be better. I'd much rather see any real-life courses, even ones not on the PGA Tour, added to the inventory. I'm sure there are many "regular courses" offering enough challenge and length  that are likely willing to come onboard for a very reasonable contract price.

I totally agree, and personally I think the company should re-evaluate their direction. There would be many courses out there that are struggling and would relish the chance to promote their course/club. I am sure the only cost to WGT could be the photography and development costs.

However one does need to be careful as any course on WGT needs length - short courses just get eaten alive (even PB F9 is in the category).

I did look at the Event leaderboard at one stage, and points seemed on par to any event. However I cannot quantify this as to do an analysis, I would need to look at the previous events leaderboards - I cannot even find the latest one. Nearly like WGT are hiding these details!

Whilst players keep playing clashes, WGT will host them. Again if they were fair to all and based on skill, they would rake in the rewards; as it is they pocket what they can from those that keep playing them. Nothing wrong with that, just short sighted IMHO.

But short sightedness seems to run rife at WGT.

How much does it cost WGT for a few keystrokes??  It can't be that much.  But they are looking at the bottom line.  I for 1 would like to see more wind directions.  Seems no matter what course I play & get the same wind.  Is that just the luck of the draw?  I don't think so myself.  I'd like to see different directions for the wind.  Like on a dogleg right, the wins has always been out the the East.

If I understand what you're saying then par would be 74.  As it's score, not strokes under par, that count a very good round would be needed if it was going to affect many players average.

I like the best of par 5 and bop 3 is growing on me, albeit very slowly.
