    Dear WGT,

I notice that this month's closest the hole payouts are half what they normally are i.e. they have reverted to a normal week's payout. Please could you confirm whether or not this is an inadvertant error or are we being "stiffed" here?

    Many thanks

ok ..so we are being stiffed with reduced payments for monthly closest tourneys. Heaven forbid, u ever increase them.

Not that i expect any logic (except along the lines of the reduced credit strategy for the majority of players with the  ready go's) but what is the rationale behind this please?

An(y) answer would be appreciated from wgt?!

Noticed that 2. I won the januari CTTH and got only $1.70 instead of the usual $3.60 for comming in first.

Seems WGT has addopted a new strategy 2 overgenerate cashflow....the overpriced Callaway balls, the new RG-payouts... and 4 sure there's more 2 come.

    2 sum up:....CHARGE MORE, PAYOUT LESS! :)

    Cheers, GC

Just help me understand since I don't play many CTTH tournaments.

WGT offers FREE payouts on these tournaments so you don't have to put up any credits.

They decide to change how much they give out for FREE ... now paying out a bit LESS than they used to on these tournaments ...

THEY are ripping YOU off ???

    Interesting ....

Do you whiners ever look at the whole picture???? I think not! Because if you did you would see that the payout for the  monthly CTTH challenges were reduced for one reason and one reason only. What is it? Before the January CTTH challenge all the monthly CTTH challenges started out with the amateur tier. Starting in January they added the hack tier to the monthly tourney. That is 70 more places to payout with no additional income because as Lou pointed out  all CTTH tourneys are free to enter. Now if they charged an entry fee I could see being upset that they reduced the payouts.

Since when were you the self appointed WGT spokesman?

    It is a legitimate question.

so ..lets look at yr "whole picture."

    Before Change -

    Am – 500

    Pro – 1000

    Tour Pro – 1250

    Master – 1500

    Tour Master – 1750

    Legend – 2000

    Total – 8,000 credits

After Change (And with yr hack tier now added)

    Hack – 100

    Am – 250

    Pro – 400

    Tour Pro – 600

    Master – 750

    Tour Master – 850

    Legend – 950

    Total – 3,900 credits

so that is clearly not the reason as you suggest. And what is a total payout of 100 credits for hacks  ...a $1  . .doubt they will ge bust as a result of that ....but thanks for yr input.

The reason I am upset is that the very least they could have done is announced this rather than slipping it thru the back door.

Second, they contest that the game is free and so to legitimise this, they should at least provide a mechanism for people to progress thru the ranks, buying the necessary equipment thru hard work, skill and/or if they cannot afford to buy the requisite stuff thru earning free credits via their own play. Otherwise they cannot really claim it is free (except at a very basic level)

Thirdly, the free credits are primarily designed to drive traffic to the site and keep users regular and active which would be a significant KPI for them. It is self interest rather than generosity - how many people would play the regular weeklies and monthlies if there were no credits? A significantly reduced number I would suggest.

Well borntobesting, 4 sure I do. Serious doubts about you. See u're reacting on just every topic around here.....sometimes got the impression u're writing perse.

But ok, lets return 2 the topic. U and Lou are totally right about the CTTH's which are free 2 enter, so theres not much 2 complain about that, true.

But when looking at the whole picture there's more, 2 be specific; COMMUNICATION & CRM. WGT is acting like a good old fashioned MONOPOLIST, ruling from the IVORY Tower. No answers on bugreports and emails, except 4 that they are looking into it, or will sent it 2 the 'appropriate people', marginal response on 'customerneeds' etc. Only WGTIcon is trying 2 help us, WGT's customers. But apparantly (s)he's in not a position 2 get things really done.

Don't get me wrong. This game is great and I really like it. I've complimented WGT several times after updates. But I really think it's time 2 act like a 'modern' company, 2 be professional on all businessaspects. Then they are in a position 2 charge a fair price 4 their product(s), 4 which we'll all be glad 2 pay 4.

    Cheers, GC

    I agree Lou!

I'm all for WGT maintaining and increasing their revenue stream to grow the game!

Since the extra $41 per month windfall profit per month is literally coming out of members pockets, we should have some say-so on how they spend it no?

Here are my suggestions, and hopefully other members can add to the list.

    • Improve WGT employee morale by buying 4 large Papa John pizzas or 7 dozen Dunkin' Donuts for the monthly employee meeting depending on if its an AM or PM gathering.
    • Buy a case (10 reams) of printer/copier paper to cover the cost of employee's printing/copying their resumes. (That's if you don't buy food for the meetings.)
    • Use the whole year's windfall profit ($492) to buy both WGTSky and WGTicon a 21.5" Samsung flat screen monitor so both can multi-task and find those multi-account users faster and easier.
    • Give both WGTSky and WGTicon $5 per week raises for having to post "Clear both of your caches" 10 times per day.
    • Pay your graphics artist the whole sum to get Lizzie her wooly knickers.
