Conceding putts is a green by green, player by player instance. I let the other player know that I usually concede 2.5 ft or less but that I have the right not to concede. If they agree, no problem, if they have an issue with that, then they can leave the match. But they know up front. I might concede 3 putts in a row then on the 4th not, my choice. You either make the putt or don't. Just don't start crying about missing the putt because you knew up front.

    Tailwind:
The only reason I mention this is constant requests for concedes that are longer than I give which is at 2 feet and in. As soon as players get 1 up they start whining for CC's and get mad if we dont give them, just getting tired of being asked and having to put up with abusive posts during game.

And as far as i'm concerned concedes are not a part of real golf either. And surely not a tactical weapon.

You give a perfect example for use as a tactical weapon. He who demands CCs doesn't play independently any more but surrenders to your will, so you take control of the match, and by getting mad he will most certainly lose his temper and his skills.

This is certainly not for a friendly match, but if there's something at stake...

Nothing's good over 2 feet unless noncritical.

I miss 3 footers more than I like to admit.  And, I feel my opponent should have every opportunity to do the same.

Food for thought:  In Match Play, if your opponent has a 'tap-in' for a win (a putt that you intend to concede), REGARDLESS of the length of your putt...CONCEDE THE HOLE, duh. What sense is there to waste the time to concede twice on a hole when once would suffice?

REGARDLESS of the length of my opponents putt, if the above scenario applies, I will NOT concede the putt, extending a courtesy by allowing my opponent the option to speed along play and concede the hole, or, sneak in some much-needed putting practice.

So...now y'all know.  And, y'all know who y'all are so  Quitcher whinin'.  Don't ask for a concede. It's pathetic.

    just sayin'...
