Yesterday I tried inviting a player on my friend list to a game as their status showed green, only to get a message from them to say they were already in a game.  Today, whilst playing a game myself, I checked my status on the game page (by clinking the Friends tab) and it showed me with a green light and Available when I clearly wasn't.  I checked my status on My Profile page and was showing Busy there, but one wouldn't normally look at a player's profile page to check their availability.

Is there any reason the status is not showing correctly?  I'm wondering whether if someone manually changes their status it somehow screws up their real status.  There ought to be a 'Auto' status option so that one can revert back to WGT deciding your status.

Yes, you can set your status manually to available while you are in game. Some people do that if they are practicing/warming up while awaiting for a tournament match, for example.

Just checked my status again whilst playing a comp, and it showed available.  I think I might have made a mistake earlier with the status on the profile page; just checked it again and it also showed available when I wasn't.

I understand that one may want to manually override the norm occasionally, but there doesn't seem to be any way of putting it back into Auto mode; the last thing players would want is constant invites when they're actually in a game because their status is showing available.

Other thought would be try to set your status on website first and then in game. Maybe that will help.

I am not sure why your status is being wayward :(

Was playing a matchplay game today and thought I'd just check my status in the game window... is said Busy!!  When I was getting available status t'other day I was playing single play mode, but it was a comp and not practice mode.  So, maybe a difference in code between single and multi-player games??

I will keep an eye on it and let you know if I find anything else out.
