This is something I've wanted to suggest as well. It would be pretty easy to impliment a voice comm. system similar to the kind you see on the Xbox platform or in computer games like World of Warcraft.
Players could easily disable the option if they didn't want to hear from their opponents or if they were being annoyed. On the flip side, it would be great to chat with your friends and fellow players while playing.
