Extremely dissapointing 78 for me. I have no interest in competing for the prizes. I almost ended my round at the 8th hole - I 4 putted from 9 ft! But then I thought that it doesn`t matter if I end my round or not so I just completed the rest of the round in severe pain (sometimes I wish I wasn`t so competitive) :d 8th hole: My first one for birdie from 9 ft was misjudged and slightly too hard. The next putt was gonna drop but OF COURSE I just did not think about it properly with the starting putter meter and I putted 25 % instead of 15 % and so the ball hit the hole edge and I missed my 3-4 footer for par :( Then I was in shock and pulled my 4,7 footer for bogey. Words cannot describe my dissapointment.. Oh wait, they can! But the kind of language I would describe my round with is not nice to read or appropriate. I made two birdies on the back9 but I that did not really matter anymore for me. My hopes of a good round were already dead.
Lesson learned - Next time I shoot one practice round on the tournament course to avoid beginner mistakes. I guess the tournament name "Tough-it-out" comes for a reason. My putting is not the only thing that fell apart during my round. I am not a big fan of practice rounds and I seldom need to practice, but due to I seldom play with starter clubs on uneven lies I think I have to play a practice round on the tournament course to avoid stupid mistakes. In Cabo tough-it-out last month I played a 79 on round 1 (without practice) then I played a 70 on the next round. I did not play a single round on Cabo between those two rounds. So you could argue that it was due to my "practice" (first round) combined with a bit of luck that I managed to play a 70 on round 2 in Cabo Tough-it-out event.
Congrats to everyone playing under par on this tough layout!
