  Hello

  Does anyone know when there is going to be a free rental week-end or day?

  At this time we have no scheduled time for when we will run another free rental promotion.

  We used to get one at Christmas, but then again we used to get a new course or 2 a year.

  If that is not a company going downhill ??

  Wgt is not here in 2 years time.

  Actually, in early December, I believe there was a free rental day. Granted, it wasn't for a whole weekend; but it was free rentals, nonetheless. And WGT recently, as I'm sure you're already aware, added the front 9 of Pebble Beach. To me, that sounds to be in line with what has been done previously.
  
  Of course, one could just as easily argue that the fact they don't have to rely on such things indicates that they're not going downhill and will do quite well going forward.

  They always seem to have a free rental weekend just before they introduce new equipment. Then they sell a whack of it because it works good during the rental period. After the rental weekend they introduce "New" equipment which lately just seems to be re-branded equipment. I doubt very much that they will introduce anything really new because for the top players the game is already too easy and for really weak players there isn't a club that will help them.

  IIRC, there was a free "Nation" rental day in December.

  There used to be a free weekend around Masters week, but I'm guessing that they find it sufficient now to give ev1 the free "level-up" rental of two hours.

  This, and other tight-ass decisions, point to a change in customer relation which seems irrational to me.

  That is sad because if someone wants to improve his/her bag, the only way to make a good choice is by comparing different clubs. And if you start renting 5-6 clubs or sets, you will really have no credits left to do the actual purchase.

  The 2 hours free rental of a club after you level up is ok, but only in the way of saying, "is this club better than what i have right now? " In my case, the TM ATV wedge is for sure better than the starter sand wedge, but I cannot be sure that it is better than the Cleveland 588 wedge.

  You can search the discussion board for recommendations on clubs. Before purchasing clubs, I did a search of threads for recommendations. There's a lot of great information out there. It just takes a few minutes to find it. 
  
  Alternatively, you could start a thread in which you ask people for recommendations. There are a lot of great people on here who would be more than willing to give you some suggestions on clubs.
