first of all if this has been said sorry for repeating

am a casual RG player decided to play one today 18 hole sta shot 64

figured not bad actually think its my best 18 hole score

decided to look at other RG's payout see what I might make and wow didn't realize how much has changed in RG's payouts looked at about 15 RG's and if you do not finish in the top THREE, FOUR or maybe FIVE you do not even break even in RG's anymore why is this ..........

Am a average player have a few streaks of over 20 days consect played try to play as much as possible slowly moving down in average currently just under 66 Master level 77 but for the life of me I cannot figure out why they changed  RG's payouts great if you win but for casual player no point in playing them anymore

guess I get to keep my credits at least but wow what a strange change

So what is the advantage of having RG's if only the top 1-4 or 1-5 players make anything, all other 45+ players lose money.

Oh well no more RG's for me..........

So I play for fun, try to enjoy the golf forums.  I learned a long time ago that, as a casual player, I can't compete with those that play until their fingers bleed (wink) and I no longer have the notion that competition is free.

Chances are, even if addicted, you'd only win credits...and after you've bought all the latest clubs, balls, XP drinks, avatars etc., there isn't much else you can do with those credits except play in more tournaments.  Yes, there are gift cards, worth pennies on the dollar, but I could never accumulate the 165,000 credits needed to by the cheapest $250 nor would I want to try.

So I play for fun knowing I've left some time for a normal life (smile).  Besides, this really is cheap entertainment...I've spent more on one round of real golf that I've spent here since May of 2009.

Even with the higher price some the new Callaway balls this is as Joey said fairly cheap entertainment. Shoot I spent more on my Cobra driver than I have spent here in the year that I have been here. And most of what I did spend was what I was saving for a new driver, I decided that as little as I play on a full size 18 hole course that I didn't need a new driver. Spending $300 on a new driver that I might use 2 or 3 times a year was just going to be a waste. And as I play here every day the $ was much better spent.
