I seriously doubt that. I found a GI-SD ball lasts 90 hits while a Callaway i(s) ball has 120 hits. You should never trust (or be fooled by) the dots.

Very true. Never trust the graphics in the pro shop at all. The recent meter speed graphic suggesting the new R9 TP driver as having the same speed as the R9 Super Tri being proof of that.

As for these balls, I see no need for them. The existing Callaway balls are more than adequate for Legends.

Tiffer, I always respect your posts and opinions but....

WGT, I feel is attempting to address the initial tee shot disparity that Legends suffer, ie: my drives are far short of my Master and Tour Master competitors, not to mention Pro and TourPro's. I feel closing this gap is needed.....IMHO. I apologize in advance if this next subject has already been mentioned on previous posts but what about the new R11 driver?  Surely that is in the works somewhere and could also provide some extra distance. Perhaps I am not in league with those that think it is OK for a Legend to be 60 to 80 yards farther back for their approach shots into the green. Just my thoughts...

    Hey SM pad'ner:

Since you got that BASEBALL BAT Driver you are hitting within 6-10 of me, except when you go into the salad bowls and I fly overhead, waving as I go....sorry off track momentarily.

Should Legends have a 300 yard driver, and a ball with 5 dots of distance and spin? What's the sense in having tiers if these attributes were for Legends only?

Why do some Legends want to be equal in driving distance with a Tour pro, or a Master? Its the Legend player that has more skill. This is why the tier was created was it not?

So the Legend is equal on the drive, won't the Legend out shoot the other tiered members on the approach? Where's the skill in that?

Is it about the Legend being equal in distance and creaming the other non-Legend player? Is that fair?

Legends are just that, Legends, and should play to their strengths. Members constantly looking for WGT to make the Legend tier easier isn't the answer. The equipment is there for a Legend to be a great player that the Legend already is, IMO.

Exactly! That has become a standard line for me; "Wave as you go by" and that's after I uncorked one with everything I got and timed my twitches just right to ding it and even apply some BS to ride a tailwind if there.......if it comes off perfect...I still wave as they go by.  lol

    ...

But I do respect the point richard above is making.....edited this after reading his post.

Let me just try to clarify by saying....to outdrive us by a huge distance is not in keeping with real life golf courses....ie: the measuring stick there, is the distance between tee boxes. Some elite courses even have 5 different tee boxes. The exception exists in real life where a back tee is extreme but as a rule....I think it may be less severe than we are presently seeing on WGT.   imho

Agreed Magic. This is a virtual golf Sim, and WGT needs to keep a degree of difficulty to the game or the scoring would be ridiculous like TWO. The length of the tee-boxes may not seem like real world golf as it stands in this game, but it aligns itself pretty good from a golf Sim standpoint.

If I was going to play a PGA pro (Legend) on Bethpage, you better believe I'm teeing-off from the red tees being I'm a 12 handicap (Amateur) in real life.  : )

    I don't think it's necessary.

What's the sense in having tiers if these attributes were for Legends only?

I think the original issue of complaint was why are lower tiered players, playing off shorter tees, being given access to the same equipment?

Why do some Legends want to be equal in driving distance with a Tour pro, or a Master? Its the Legend player that has more skill. This is why the tier was created was it not?

A skill in the main that was hard earned over countless rounds and months of practice. You shouldn't be giving someone else an unfair advantage in competition, on the basis that they have less skill.

So the Legend is equal on the drive, won't the Legend out shoot the other tiered members on the approach? Where's the skill in that?

The skill is that they will generally execute the right shot, with the right amount of spin and be better at taking into account the wind, run of the green etc.

Is it about the Legend being equal in distance and creaming the other non-Legend player? Is that fair?

Even before the changes there were many players who played ready go tournaments that didn't have a hope in hell of even making their original stake back One can only assume they entered in full knowledge of this. Better players will win more credits and I cannot see anything wrong with that. I say that as someone who wins a lot less now than I used to.

Legends are just that, Legends, and should play to their strengths. Members constantly looking for WGT to make the Legend tier easier isn't the answer. The equipment is there for a Legend to be a great player that the Legend already is, IMO.

    I agree 100%.
