They traded a 1/2 dot of durability loss for a 1/2 dot distance gain and 1/2 dot of spin added. Hhhhhhmmmm........ JB

    Yep.  Serious.

Unless you consider introducing a "Legend"  WGT ball that was *** and now a new "Legend" ball that is the most expensive ball in the game and still won't equal the playing field love.

Look at it this way  ------->  the regular Callaway ball played by a Tour Master on very fast greens is gona stop the ball same as my "Legend" ball on tourney greens so it's a rub.

But.....the  "Legend"  ball ain't got the durability of the non-legend ball so once again we are getting bent over.

It likes this in my opinion;  why the hell would anyone want to become a Legend?!    Your days of a fair fight against players equally as good as you but with the title Tour Master are over.   And while I'm trying to control 3 and 4 iron shots into the greens against a TM hitting 7 / 8 or 9 irons all the love WGT can give their most dedicated and loyal tier of players is the most expensive ball in the game that is still gona leave the odds stacked in the TM's favor.

Where is there any incentive to become a Legend?  Name something Jim.  Why would anybody do it?  All I can say is if you like playing MPC or RG's  don't ever become a Legend.

They are great balls that deliver. The adjustment is the hard part...at least for my little game. Don't see much in the way of distance, I do see much with spin and the differance in feel. Right now, the better feel is not better for me.

To get the f'n sandbagger label off! Unfortunately I don't cherry pick the rounds and don't shoot enough 30s to get there. I lost a lot of regular playing p's and hate where I'm at. It's embarrassing having the right clubs and the wrong tee.  JMO

@WGT-How about an option to voluntarily move up?

hha talk about a kick in the crotch ... less durability is a turnoff... i like the durability of the reg calloways only way to justify buyin them........

OkieX, I don't know what the fuss is about. Those Callaway balls are more then enough for the Legend tier. Even the Legend GI2-SD2 balls are ample for Legend play on all courses. I use a GI2-D or S golf ball on Kiawah and St. Andrews front nines, The Legend ball I play on all four courses and sometimes have to lay-off a bit on some shots.

Those Callaway balls stop on a dime too, on all greens, especially when hitting with 95% of power or better. I use a Ping i15 3 wood on hole 3 at Bethpage and the ball sticks to 3'. If I get a tail-wind, I just hold-back power on the shot. These are just a few examples about the Legend tier myths. Anyone who's played this game with any tenure should have no problem playing in the Legend tier. There's 2 par 4's (one on the front, one on the back) on all four courses that are a little longer, and the par 3's are a bit longer as well. Let me tell you though, birdie is certainly not out of the question on any of them holes. Just chase the ball to the hole on the long par 4's.

In all actuality, a lot of the approach shots are 8 or 9 iron and wedge coming in. Especially with these new Callaway golf balls that stop on a dime with a 3 iron in some instances. Depends on the wind.

The hardest thing about the Legend tier is getting used to the faster tournament green speeds. A 6 or 8 foot putt isn't quite a given like in the Tour Master tier. But it isn't nothing no one can't conquer with plenty of practice like anything else.

If I can play off-ding style golf and score two 30's in less then a week as a Legend player, anyone can do it!

edit: I did forget to mention that the back 9 of Kiawah has the most long par 4's and will take some good course management to make birdie on them holes.

If a regular Callaway ball (2.5-dot durability) lasts only 33% longer than a 1-dot Tour GI-SD ball, is it still justified?
