The partnership with Topgolf provides WGT  a lot more resources enabling us to improve our service to you, and invest in more content.  This is a very good thing for you our players.

So we're getting a virtual driving range with the ability to play target golf types of games on it?

Was my first thought and this quote from the presser caught my eye. Let's just hope some of those new additions cut their teeth on fixing bugs within the existing PC game.  :-)

" All of the current WGT associates will now be employed by Topgolf Media, which is hiring to fill additional critical positions immediately."

    Press release.

But nowhere does it say or imply that those critical positions are Programmers. Loads of new office staff probably.

Don't doubt they have been looking.  Looked up senior unity gameplay engineer, to find out what exactly it was.

Found the listing for WGT on 2 different job listing sites.  Both posted to the site 15 hours ago.

Didn't go as far as copying everything in the job description, but did take note of this.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop games for IOS and Android on the Unity3D mobile platform

This is first line on both sites.

Here is senior server engineer [scala]

WGT is looking for a talented, hands-on, Sr. Server Engineer who loves taking on technical challenges. This person will collaborate with other engineers to implement new game play systems related to our new mobile titles.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Develop, modify, and debug game play and related game server code

Finally something that mentions the Web

WGT is looking for a talented, hands-on, Sr./Lead Game Server Engineer who loves taking on technical challenges. This person will work closely with the production team to implement new game play systems to extend and maintain our web and mobile golf game experiences. This person will also lead and collaborate with other engineers to own and extend the depth and quality of our products.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Develop, modify, and debug gameplay and related game server C#/C++ code

    Another mention of Web, BUT

WGT is looking for a talented and experienced Senior UI Artist who is a communicative, tech savvy team player with an entrepreneurial spirit. Bring your Unity 3D experience and your background developing games that run on different platforms (e.g. web, mobile, etc…), your expertise in understanding the different pros and cons of various platforms and your passion for gaming.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Own the design and creation of UIs for titles currently in development
    • Create high quality, production- ready assets such as icons, buttons, typography, and animations
    • Prototype and mockup UI screens and animations to visualize the user experience
    • Work with a small team of engineers to implement assets and screens in Unity
    • Concept and explore UI visual styles for future titles

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • Strong understanding of how to create fun, engaging, and intuitive UI for mobile devices

Whether we like it or not.  I think we all know where this is heading, and its not for the PC.
