You should be able to finish a round before your guy "freezes up." That symptom indicates that your computer needs to be better optimized to play WGT. Almost any computer can play WGT well from a Windows2000 machine up to Windows 10 and anything MacOSX 10.6 or above. So a new machine is not necessarily the solution.

Yes. But.
That does not help when it happens to the OTHER guy when playing a multiplayer round.
Many players have poorly maintained computers that are clogged up with garbage files. Often because they don't know what maintenance needs to be done on a regular basis. That could be the root of Augie316's problem. In other words, Augie316 may well be ripping himself off and not know it. I would suggest that since Augie316 didn't even post in the forum most likely to be read by WGT that attention to details like computer maintenance is something not high on his list of priorities.
Lots of WGT players have few, if any, problems with game play. Usually because they have well maintained computers. Something those having problems might want to wonder about.
Note that WGT also has no control over the player's ISP, browser used, nor any other Internet devices/software between the players computer and WGT's servers.
So as players if we want as trouble free a game as possible we have to make sure the only part of the connection to WGT we have any control of, the equipment at our end, is in excellent working condition.
Minimize the number of applications that start when you power up your computer. Make sure junk, leftover temporary Internet files are regularly deleted. Make sure your computers registry is cleaned up. Make sure your computers CPU is not running hot. Regularly clear your system and browser caches.
It only takes a couple of minutes to do a regular routine because there is little that needs to be cleaned out
