I need to clarify my above post, I was referring to the Master players who were moved to Legend based on WGT's decision in September. I did not think that many would be sent to the Legend tee's and I have friends who still feel like they don't deserve to be there and at times struggle with the game. Good luck to everyone and enjoy as best you can here! It is a hard game to master :))

It is a hard game to master.  As much as this is a simulation, I use my knowledge from real golf in applying my shots.  Remember, the physics here represent the real world accurately.  We have our gripes on certain aspects, but overall I'm quite pleased.

I would think we would all agree, using driver and wedge to every hole with a short putt all the time does not provide much challenge.  The championship tees are a means to challenge the better players.  We can not always shoot low scores all the time. Hence the frustration level. But, it is that level of realism that keeps us playing.

I always consider this beta program as a work in progress.  Mistakes are going to be made along the way, but in the long term, it will be a great.  Don't forget,  as they continue to gather information as the result of their upgrades things will change to reflect the style of game play they want.

My opinion with regards to new clubs etc.  IMO, one needs to be carefull in this area knowing it is a computer simulation, one does not want to detract from the skill level and challenge, otherwise go play TWO.

I consider this, one of the better posts I've read.  Well done.

There doesn't seem much incentive for me  to move up to Legend Tier. Maybe if they issued Legend clubs instead of trying to bleed us dry with having to buy the balls all the time...I don't know.

It just seems there's more fun staying where I am. The other TM's I play round with a pretty damn good, so giving them an extra 40 yrds would be golfing suicide as they have all the same clubs and balls I have.

    I couldn't use the old R9 either...the L80 is very easy use.

Great posts and suggestions from Blue, Andyson, Gold Card and Infinito.  And I totally agree with Infinito, I posted something very similar a few days ago in another thread on High Winds.

I only joined WGT in late November 2010, but I do sympathise with those who got moved up to legend tier but who were not really to that standard.  Maybe WGT can somehow sort that out, although as mentioned, may not be as easy as we think.  Rather than making a new Tour Legend tier as Andyson suggested, maybe WGT could think about moving some of the legends who were 'converted overnight' and currently have high stroke averages back to Tour Master tier.  They will soon find their place; if they are good enough they will get back to being a legend... but on their own merit.

That what i was trying to point out, everyone has missed my point, thinking i'm complaining because i'm not good enough, but i'm happy with my game, can still beat T/M's (most of the time.Feel free to check my stats as PROOF) and always compete well in tournaments. All i'm asking is exactly what mentioned  above, a incentive to reach and be a legend, if people are complaining that its too much unfair advantage, lower the clubs yardage given to 5 per driver, irons and wedge, but it would still be an elite set of clubs available ONLY to legends, (unlike the level 80 driver).

And to finalise my point, every now and again, WGT put us legends off the BLUE tees in free tourneys, when we play off same tees as tourmasters, it's so easy to score low, and you get to see how easy the game was off shorter tees when you have best equipment, so it gives us a chance to compete, not at  same level, (just a slighter bit  of gain to our club yardage) in Ready go's or challenge matches (most enjoyable part of game) against the T/M's when we are on black tees, and they're on blue.

5 yards per club won't make a big deal of yardage gain, but it would boost WGT's finances, and give people a "reward" for reaching the top of the game/

Chris - you are meant to be good, that is why you are a legend.  Now act like one!  Or, get your account deleted, set up another one and be a hack.  Your choice.

Is that what you did when you reached legend tier was it? Where do i mention that i'm not good? Nothing wrong with my game. What does act like a legend mean?  Plenty of other legends who are even better than me complain about things, thats what (hopefuly) gets WGT to improve the game.

And when you DO reach legend tier you won't feel as cocky then .  But i love being a legend.

And when i was "converted "to legend tier my average was 59, and most other "convertants" were below 62, the same score as to get a legend status, and it has slowly gone up since becoming legend.  If you changed people back, a lot would just stay where they were to clean up ready go's or challenge matches, so this is unrealistic. Its only a minority who are unhappy.

    MioKontic:
The validation is that he has to complain about something.  He's complained about everything else umpteen times, so this is just the next one in line.  There are at least 25 complaints a day from him.

And to prove that i don't complain all the time...EVEN MioKunti has agreed with me in post below, so he has very selective (or 5hit memory)

I don't know if this has been brought up before now.  It will be easier to average 62 or below now than it was for Chris and other original Legends because TMs can use the R9 L80 280 yd driver from the blue tees and use the Callaway Tour i(z) extra distance balls.  It will be easier for the good TMs to become Legends.

This will increase the ranks of the Legends (some might say dilute) and provide more players for Legend RGs and such.  This would also tend to balance the Legend and TM tiers a bit as the good TMs move to Legends improving the situation of Legends being at a disadvantage in MP vs the good TMs.

    Just a thought....
