I was 68 going into my final CTTH at wolf creek(because i didn't have much time for a round after getting to hole#6 peviously in m/play and getting disconnected!) it had 3 mph wind pointing at 4 oclock, therefore left to right, i aimed 2 cm left of flag, hit ding, but ball (brand new aswell!)flew left straight into the water, i've noticed slight exageration of shots here before, but that was unbeleivable, a blatent ball stealer.  Is this what WGT has come to when we spend $3 on a pack of balls, Deviation i dont mind if it send ball to rough or green, but a 20 mph gust of wind blowing ball straight into water!!! come on + i couldn't send a bug report because the ctth round had just finished!

I know i'll have a moan once in a while, but this is blatant robbery, imagine how you'd feel on your local golf course if you hit a shot, then someone runs onto fairway and steals your ball ??

Tiger Woods took a double bogey Saturday in the Dubai Classic because the wind knocked down his tee shot and fell short of the green then proceeded to trickle down into the water.

    Just sayin'.

But if it WAS a freak gust of wind here, wgt's wind speed was 3 mph left/right, but ball flew left with a kind of 20 mph+, they should be done for false advertising then!!

LMAO. OK, let's hold WGT responsible for the forces of nature. Shame on them for not knowing wind can gust at times. Sue them. While you're at it you could sue Callaway because their name was on the ball. Maybe Ping too because their name was on the club. Might as well throw MisterWGT in there too, he had a hand in coming up with this game.

Hell, just sue everybody in sight. :-D

Ain't that the truth. That and blaming everybody and his brother instead of taking responsibility.  :-)

I'm guessing his point was exactly that. If wind gusts are programmed into the game, the wind indicator doesn't reflect it. If they are not programmed into the game, well, looks like we are right back on the VEM subject.

So yes, wgt would have to program the winds gusts, to replicate nature. Unless you somehow think mother nature forced herself on wgt without them knowing? I guess the point being, it might be a better approach to listen to someones complaint and try to see their perspective before getting all snide towards them.

PGA - try the search box for VEM or 'The Beast' and you will soon have your answer for these deviations. They are programmed into the game to keep it challenging, like it or not.

Another fabulous example of the "WGT deviance".  As VHL stated, it's part of the game.  It's most common on Par 3's, but all holes are subject to it in all modes of play.

It has happened to us all to include loosing a ball.  This isn't TW on an Xbox so there is more room for creative programming.  Although it does happen, it doesn't happen so frequently that it's an issue; once a couple rounds at best.  Yeah it can be frustrating if you have a good game going.  Sometimes it's just too funny and has been replay worthy i.e. the approach shot from 150 yrds out that drops out of the air directly into the cup and miraculously ricochets 100 yrds in an absurd direction (AvatarLee I believe if memory serves me).

Heh-I guess why I don't get upset as others do is because this game replicates my own to a very large degree. Standing 200 yards or so from the target I think I know what to expect but when I hit the ball and it does something I don't expect, (IRL this is)  I scratch my head and think, "oiy, guess I was wrong" or "damn, I messed up the swing." I can't ever remember faulting the wind for my bad shot.  Do you think the game tries to create this scenario? I do.

Nothing snide about the laugh, VHL, keep trying.   ;-)

I'm perplexed by this explanation and kindess.  It's foreign to me in these forums.  Does this mean we can all get along now?!?

    j/k Jim.  Couldn't resist.
