The last few days, I will be in the middle of Alternate Play Match, and the mouse will move but will not let me click on anything.  I try to click on everything possible but nothing clicks.  I have to F5 to refresh my page... and usually it happens 3 times per game so i get a loss.

Has been happening for a while. F5 doesn't help for me. Changing browsers doesn't help either.. Not sure what's going on but I would suspect a WGT server issue.

Issues are likely on both of your systems.  Either within Flash itself or some nefarious software that may be running quietly in the background.

Flash (for this game) is run and rendered locally on your PC. For some reason it is hanging on you. That can sometimes cause the browser to hang as well if there are faulty resources.  All you do is exchange text and receive pictures when playing WGT, so in this case it wouldn't have anything to do with their servers.

There could be a number of causes for this, but I would recommend doing all of this to get started.  It should set your right again.

Using your browser of choice for WGT...

Clear your Browser's Cache. (usually CTRL-ALT-SHIFT, select the 'Cache' box only and clear from the beginning of time)

Clear your Flash Cache (click DELETE ALL SITES button or find MEDIA5.WGT.COM in the list and delete just that by itself)

    Uninstall Flash

Reinstall Flash (uncheck the optional McAfee offer, such garbage)

Download MalwareBytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) and run a scan.

If MBAM finds something (it probably will) then follow the instructions and restart your computer after you clean up whatever it finds.

Typically this will fix most of these types of issues. The majority of the time just re-installing applicable software and starting over from scratch will do the trick.

Note that you will need to set up your in-game preferences again once you return to WGT due to clearing the Flash cache.

Run MBAM on a once-a-week basis to keep your system free of nonsense-ware and its ilk.  It's free, it's highly rated and it certainly won't hurt your system.

In the event this doesn't help then you may be looking at some hardware issues, such as some faulty ram or a GPU (video card/on-board) that may be starting to go on the fritz.

    Good luck fellas.

I've tried everything... its not on my end.  It can't coincidentally start right after the update and most people i talk to in the chats have the same exact problem.  I can't even get through a game today.

I have also tried every single thing and I have tried the game on multiple computers and still have the issues with erratic mouse function and i cannot get through a game either.  I have lost quite a few golf balls with these errant shots. It is very frustrating, to say the least. Up until the past couple of weeks, I played with no issues. I agree that the update had something to do with this issue!

Thinking out load here and is just my opinion.

Losing the mouse function is a natural progression of all the "bug fixes". When they added the extra camera views we lost the mouse cursor focus in the chat box. Now why I think they are related is, I could always use my spacebar to change camera views. Now went typing in the chatbox and the cursor focus is lost the camera view still changes as you hit the spacebar but you lost what you typed. Coincidence, I think not, it is a clue where to look in my opinion.

WGT does not work that way I'm afraid, they just add more code instead of finding the problem. Then came the flahing text fiasco, they did not roll-back or restore to what they had, they wrote more bad code not fixing anything. Now the cursor focus is lost in game. Coincidence, I think not. It is the natural progression for WGT bad code writing.

WGT has gone so far past the good game they had, they can not find their way back. They need to rethink how they do things. What they are doing is not working. I thought that maybe with the merger we would see an improvement, I was wrong.

I think you have presented a very cogent analysis. I sincerely hope wgt takes this to heart I am not holding my breath till they do, though

    ZioMio,

you have explained this phenomenon better than I could ever explain it. I wish that WGT officials would read this forum and find a way to fix the issue. When I contacted customer support directly, they did not seem to be able to understand my issue.

On another note, I just played on my wife's macbook pro with no issues--not sure why it worked with her computer, but does not work with any of the three PCs we have in the house. Incidentally, i was just playing my brother in Florida and he began having the same issue as me. This is crazy
