The game is continually manipulating in favor of last balls. Last week I lost a ball on 17 at Chambers Bay when it hit the green took a turn to right thru rough, bunker and out of bounds.

Then tonight on 16 at Olympic I aimed down the middle on drive, hit with a slight slice (2 notches off center and ball wound up in the left Brush. Again lost ball. Both times the ball had been barely used (at least 3/4 life left). I stopped playing for a few months because of this. We all know that you cannot compete without a decent ball, but this takes all the fun out of the game. I've lost plenty of balls due to bad shots which makes it frustrating when balls are taken away for good shots.

I did submit a bug report in both cases and did not get a response from WGT.

Has anyone else experienced this issue. I'm interested if I;m the only person who is complaining about this.

I've lost a lot of balls lately.... it is annoying but most can be put down to bad shots or poor club selection and I have to just take my punishment.... but....

the REALLY annoying ones are the unexplainable where what you think are going to be good shots end up with a lost ball and ruined scorecard..

for example just now I lost one that really annoyed me... I think it was hole 16 at St Andrews.. maybe 15... strong 25+ mph wind blowing to the left of screen... I sat my target on the boundary and expected the wind to bring me back to the middle left of the fairway... I missed the ding slightly but only by maybe 2 increments right of center... nothing to worry about I thought...... but the ball acted like it was in a vacuum... the wind did not change the flight of the ball at all and it's sailed out of bounds... destroying what had been a decent round to that point and costing me a practically new ball...

that kind of stuff is rubbish and a blight on an otherwise excellent game.

I think the Motto should be for this game should be "Only Buy The Balls You Can Afford To Lose". I lost 3 balls off 1 tee then hit the 4th one right where I wanted. The guy I was playing thought I was crazy. But I was hitting the ball I could afford to loose, and I knew I could make that shot.

PS: It only cost me 10 cents - it was the ball I could afford to loose!

I think I've only lost 3 balls that were "what the heck just happened there!" Two of the three times, I contacted customer service and explained what happened. Both times, they replaced the ball. But I simply sent them an email.

Every other ball I've ever lost, which are too many to count, have been my fault. Just this week, I lose two balls on Congressional #6. Both times, I told myself, "Just layup to a number and put a wedge close." But then I convinced myself that I could get it on the green and have a chance for an eagle. I couldn't.

The bottom line is play smart and know the quirks of the courses. On 17 at Chambers Bay, anything to the right of the hole is asking for trouble. I'm not surprised it bounded out of bounds.

In fact, I saw an interview with one of the USGA people who said that for the US Open setup that they wouldn't use the back, right hole location with the back tees. He said, "We can't even do that to the best players in the world."

In other words, they would only use the back right location with the shorter tees. Apparently, WGT never got the memo. :-)

I have a suggestion to resolve the lost ball problem . Stop playing in hurricane wind conditions . Just that simple heavy winds especially on courses like St. Andys or George are a no no . Just that simple stop playing in events with high wind settings since that is where the issue mainly seems to be . High winds the shots are more errant in cross winds and mishits are just as bad . So if you are tired of losing balls during play then play events with lower wind settings .

Ya might think he learned by now, since he posted that a year ago ;-)

We keep hearing that WGT is in cahoots with Satan to make players lose balls. So just to be sure, I checked my own stats.

In 2304 ranked rounds, I've drowned 82 balls, and probably lost about half that number to OOBs.

Breaking it down, that works out to about one lost ball every 20 rounds or so...which is a far lower percentage than I encounter on a real golf course.

    Just saying...

Dangit!!!  Not a good idea, just checked my wash ratio. In 1,773 ranked rounds...

most at the 17th, Kiawah Is. The fish have learnt to run there if they see me on the tee!
