    Tasor:
but winning 7 out of 11 is extremely hard and impossible without the "help" of the opponent.

So you want a walkover against a weaker opponent? Sounds like a level playing field is going to throw a monkey wrench into the works. Horrors this competition should give a lesser player a chance. Even one that doesn't have access to an internet cafe.

    Tasor:

I have a question: Can handicaps be set up when creating the game? If not, this concept is not applicable. What if we say that a M has an advantage of 6 holes vs. a Champ, and the Champ wins after 14 holes with 5up? Has he won the handicapped match or not? He will probably win another hole or two, but who knows?

Or do we just say that a Champ has to win with at least 5up to win the match?

the holes concede would be on the hadicap index chart for each course

    example

    st andrews

if a CH was playing  TL conceding 2 holes ,he would concede  holes 5 and 14 on the tee  because they are classed as the 2 hardest holes on the course,i have checked with an actual scorecard.

    i hope that makes sense

A slight issue with the highlighted part. When you concede a difficult hole (not that these 2 par 5s are difficult and it's nonsense they are classified as that), you basically concede 2 holes, cause the chances of winning a "difficult" hole against a lesser skilled player are much greater than winning on an easy birdie hole.

Let's take St.A. Everybody birdies #1, the hole is always halved. If I concede it, I lose a hole. But if the conceded hole is #2, which is quite impossible to birdie by someone with less experience. I basically lose 2 hole with a concession, cause I would've most likely won that hole, if we played it.

I hope it makes sense, I tried to complicate it as much as I could ;-)

im trying to make sense of it mate lol

you are not conceding holes 1 or 2

i can only go with the official handicap index chart, are you saying concede the 1st hole, then that would be unfair to the lower tier because they would prob birdie the hole  which is what i just have not done lol,

i know 5 and 14 arent that hard but they are 1 and 2 on the index chart, perhaps in real golf when the wind is up perhaps  they are tough,

that is all i can go by really and it has worked all the comps i have done so far

Instead of conceding the hardest holes, work backwards and concede the easier holes. In your SA example, 9 and 18 would be the conceded holes, being the 2 easiest holes on the course. That way the higher tiered player's ability comes into play and the lower tiered player has their work cut out for them, as it should be.

yo jim the dea of a handicap is to give the lower tiers a chance ,not the other way round lol the idea is to make it hard for the higher tiers

we all have hard and easy holes on the course and we could talk about it all day but i  have to make decesion at the end of the day and prefer the handicap chart system,it seems to working well in the mini world cup

and you wouldnt be saying this if you was a L would ya  lol
