PAULFINN52: if a CH was playing TL conceding 2 holes ,he would concede holes 5 and 14 on the tee because they are classed as the 2 hardest holes on the course,
A slight issue with the highlighted part. When you concede a difficult hole (not that these 2 par 5s are difficult and it's nonsense they are classified as that), you basically concede 2 holes, cause the chances of winning a "difficult" hole against a lesser skilled player are much greater than winning on an easy birdie hole.
Let's take St.A. Everybody birdies #1, the hole is always halved. If I concede it, I lose a hole. But if the conceded hole is #2, which is quite impossible to birdie by someone with less experience. I basically lose 2 hole with a concession, cause I would've most likely won that hole, if we played it.
I hope it makes sense, I tried to complicate it as much as I could ;-)
Disagree a bit there.. Most good TMs would actually birdie #2 as its just a wedge in for them. Probably if I'm a legend vs a TM I'd gladly give up that hole.
But that POV may vary player to player. So, i guess might just go with Paul's chart, which again being based on real conditions might seem different compared to difficulty level on WGT.
Another method might be "pick your poison" style, where the player has to decide which holes should be conceded in-game(Concession to be made before the tee shots are played). Now if you are lowering the hole handicap, can give that option to the lower tiered player. Might make for some interesting strategic decisions.
