You'd have thought that after so long you'd give up moaning and start playing golf instead.

That is what WGT is banking on ... like every complaint they wish not to address, just stay quite till it goes away on it's own.

Since the forum is here for the community to express their opinions, we come to express ours'. Some do not like it, just like some do not like the clashes. While others may not leave a comment, the fact that they read what others feel, it may resonate with them. If they feel strongly they may or may participate in that discussion.

We can only hope that WGT's greed does not totally abandon the true spirit of the game of golf. The clashes are not designed in that spirit, they could be, but they are designed to increase lost revenue. Revenue WGT loses everyday from core players that believe in the spirit of competitive golf.

    About cash-flow.

I'm a retired CFO and i known a little what i speak about.

Cash is what you have in your pocket, nothing else. I have a doubt than CC Clash make cash but only increase overall profitabilty of WGT.

you have been here more than 5 years and you have 597 ranked rounds , And you say I should play ??  Give me a break . I have 1612 rounds in  14 months ...

Yes I joined up 5 years ago, however I only played for about a week or two, got bored, stopped and then forgot all about it. I then 're-joined' about a year ago and actually enjoyed it this time around. However as I had an account attached to my email address already I didn't set up a new one, I just started up where I left off. However I can't match 4 ranked rounds a day like you, which I must say is impressive.

WGT will also figure out a way to have a"Pay to Play" CC Crash Event. Just a matter of time.

Now you've done it... you've given WGT an idea they are likely to actually use! God Dam it.hahaha. Now we all will be skint. ha

The Bottom Line as you put it is simple, play in the Clash if you want. Don't if you don't want to. Clearly b\tching and moaning about it here is making no dent in what WGT do.

    This.

    Agreed.

But, it might help other users recognise what a laugh the clash is when seen as a competition. This might prevent them from investing in futile goals and worthless "prizes".

A very good post Dan, objective, truthful and sadly accurate.

I say sadly as I too believe that the clashes could and would be far more profitable for WGT if they were based on skill, rather than quantity.

But the bean counters just see credits being spent, not the bigger picture, That is fine from me, it is a business, albeit missing out on revenue, and every bit helps the future development of the game.

Everyone has a choice of whether to play or not. I personally do not but happy to play CC vs CC organised by clubs.

For me that is what a clash is about - bragging rights, but more importantly, new friendships formed by meeting and playing an opponent.

WGT clashes simply have players churning out as many rounds in certain time frame. That is neither skillful or fun.

The one thing I will say and you alluded to it via the Trip Advisor analogy, this is true, but you should always remember, that EVERY business can learn from a customer who complains, rather than the ones who say nothing and never return.

You have to remember, that the forum is the only outlet to voice your concerns, and contrary to WGT claims....people will not be emailing in in their thousands praising the events.....like Trip Advisor....does not happen!

It is not but it is a quick cash flow.

Not really. think about it for a second it would take 1000's of passes at 37 credits to make any real cash and  that is only if they are buying the credits. I would venture to say that most of us who do buy passes to play in the clashes are using credits that they already have and that they got buy watching videos or other forms of free credit offers.

i just played my last clash, i enjoyed it trying to get my club in the top 50. i don't work stay at home watch my grand kids clean my daughters house and take care of the dogs so i save my passes for the clashes and use them when i have used the super passes the give before each clash i would play at least 2 rounds in as many as i could . i take the surveys and watch the videos to earn the credits to play.  so to my surprise i find out they cut out the free passes that are given at the beginning of each clash.  i am not sure if it is wgt or leader of club who puts out the passes but if it is going to be like this i can't afford to play these and cc events and wgt events so by clash it was fun while it lasted
