Jay and everyone , please excuse what may have sounded rude and mean. I am very grateful for jays and anyones input on making the game more pleasurable to play.

I guess in my old age I tend to be a crab ass.....lol

Once again want to thank Jay for the video and the information that he so generously shares.

I'll put this in here it may help someone -

I have been using Maxthon for years now with very few problems. Two days ago however, it went off it's head!

I started a stokeplay game with one of my club-mates, the 1st problem to show itself was my spacebar was no longer working in chat. This was what led me to Maxthon in the 1st place!

The next was my meter, jebus, even at its worst I have never seen it so erratic, totally unplayable.

I then had a lefty avatar for my approach shot (from 40-50% rough,of course), not that unusual but it then happened on every subsequent approach shot and every putt after that.

Then on the greens, the dots would move an eighth of an inch and then freeze for a second and then start again, then stop and start and....you know the drill!

With all of the worst game affecting glitches happening together I quit the match and was starting to panic and getting quite worried. (sad man)

But then I remembered a recent thread about getting older versions of maxthon (I updated mine recently) .

                      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Here's my point -

I removed max cloud and downloaded a version from last year, I then manually updated the flash version it comes with to the latest one.

It worked a treat everything is hunky dory again, panic over!

Two people made this possible -

    1BAMA5:

found  what  i http://www.oldapps.com/maxthon.php for an older version of Maxthan needed  in  this  link   maybe  it  will help  you  also

and the person who showed how to manually update the flash player, I keep this in a note file,( maybe mshiner?)
    Here's How:
    Update Flash Player first
Then go to My Computer, your hard drive
Under Windows find the file SysWOW64 click it
Find the file Macromed click it and the file Flash
Copy the latest file which is now NPSWF32 21.0.0.182.dll
Now you have to go into your program files and find the Maxthon program
Click on it, then click Core,
    then Webkit,
    then Npplugins
Paste the copied dll file and delete the old one

I don't have meter issues, never had anything I couldn't figure out and TBH, I haven't had to do much figuring out. A dedicated Comodo Dragon is all I have been using for a long time now. I do have a problem I'm hoping someone can help with.

I'm trying to get my bud's game set up the same way as mine-basically CD with an older version of Flash. He's followed the instructions I gave him and is at the point where he needs to install the version of Flash he downloaded. That's where the problem shows up-he installs it but it doesn't take in CD.

I'm having him do something I did myself a number of times in the past with great success and all of a sudden we can't get Flash to install in CD. He's done everything properly using the Adobe tools and the version we're using has installed itself in Firefox just fine.

Any ideas or something I missed? He did choose to disable automatic updates when he installed CD at first and I just told him to allow them for this exercise. I haven't heard back if that made a difference, though. I was thinking maybe having that disabled was causing the problem.

I wonder if it is a registry key that is not allowing it to update?

I like to run a registry cleaner before and after uninstalls and installs.

Did he use the Flash uninstaller?

Great Vid,  thx for sharing as I'll post the link  in my CC.  I also was playing the game with the  game screen running and nothing else.

I think having heaps of Ram is a huge plus.  My old Puter running XP had 8mb and the things I did before I started to play was bad   lol.   Now I've got Win 8.1 and 8gb ram and have music playing,  Usually have 2 tabs open on the browser when playing the game at the same time.

I do know that having the WGT page open has an effect on the game

Yes it does have an effect,  I have 2 tabs open, one for FB and the other the Wgt page.  When I have Wgt tab on then the meter might start jumping. I think because of friends activity.

That's a good thought and I wonder if the download of CD and refusing the auto update set it. That may change when he sets the setting to allow auto updates. Still waiting on him.

By the book on the Flash uninstall.

John, the macromedia cookies will come right back up within seconds of deleting them. And yes, delete the entire flash folder (or you can delete the 3 things you mentioned separately).

The Better Privacy add-on is the only thing I've found that will automatically remove the macromedia (.sol and super-cookies) at set intervals.

The Flash folder will stay gone until you open another tab, change pages, or close/open the browser.

To give everyone an idea of what is actually in that macromedia folder (the shared object, .sol cookies, etc) you can go to file history, and type .sol. The flash and wgt cookies will blow your mind. TONS of them. Not that wgt cookies/cache are bad, but any cookie/file/cache that you have to manually remove is not good.

The EU has made it illegal (banned) for Flash or any program to use these types of cookies.

If you'll notice on the second video, the macromedia pops up, goes away, comes back, goes away. It's a constant. It's too bad other browsers don't have the Better Privacy add-on.

But, just because these steps work for me (and my pc's) doesn't mean they will work, or help, everyone.

I am OCD about a super clean computer. So I am constantly cleaning and scanning.

Paulton has a good post in this thread about maxthon. Use the older version and older flash versions. It's not a good idea, security-wise, but the people I know who use Maxthon swear by the older versions and older flash version combo.

I tried it, and just didn't like it. It played very well, but wasn't for me.

The blue screens, timeouts (loading), backwards and disappearing avatars have nothing to do with our pc's. That's some bug on WGT's end.

    MrFunnyWobbl:

    Cool vid, thanks.

Also thanks for the video on putting aim points. That's really helped my putting a lot and helping me put up lower scores now.

You're welcome. I don't remember the aim points video, but thanks. I'm pretty sure you're not referring to the spin and ding video, though :-)

Maybe I need to go back and watch the aim points video as my putting is costing me lately.
