I want a damn refund of the 100's of credits I've lost over the past weeks.  Again tonight -- my 80+ day playing streak is over because it hung on the 18th hole.

I doubt I'll be back... sick of the hanging.  Why didn't it timeout when the guy never load... we waited and chatted for 15 minutes....  what a waste of my money.

Maybe he lost the credits for hits on the ball he paid good money for thus losing money on the 600 credit ball that he was using that you are never reimbursed for or/ and the CC XP pass he probably purchased to use on said game he was booted from. Just my guess and I bet I'm pretty close to being right.

Lost them on buying passes to get points for the country club -- every time i cannot finish a game then i lose the 37 credits for the pass...

I bet I've lose 2 or 3 dozen of those passes when the game hung and the group couldn't finish.

I can deal with the cost of equipment or balls i get wet - I can't handle the loss of those purchased passes when the WGT game prevents the group from finishing.

Game client software is located on the user end but it's written by WGT.

If the game(such as from a dvd)were loaded on your computer and played locally, yes that would be on the user end.

More and more games on being played online now(through Steam, Uplay, Origin are examples)most of the software is actually on their servers(such as also WGT) then the software in not on the users end.

The Game Client is how you access that software.

There is software written by WGT in both the server and game client.  In fact there is a ton of code in the game client that produces everything you see on your screen, including the meter, ball flight, chat box, friends list, etc.

Andy we are saying the same thing sort of.  I think of Software as what you can physically hold in your hand or download from somewhere and put it on your computer.  We dont write/code software.  We write/code a program.  C, C+, basic, etc and they are called program languages. When we put a program on a DVD it becomes a piece of software.

Sort of a play on words.  A program is a set of instructions, in the end it all boils down to 1's and 0's.  That is what your computer understands, and operates with.  F9, return, goto are just easier for us to understand.

Wgt is not software, WGT is a program, based on the above definition. WGT is a browser based program/software, that requires no download on our part.  Without the internet working it will not work.  We download nothing, other then cookies.  The program is stored on their servers.  The game client is just a link to a page within the program stored on a server, not our computer.

Here is an example...Put a shortcut of the game client directly on your desktop. Disconnect from the internet and you wont get to the game client, as your browser wont work. Reconnect and it will be usable.  Go to game client, disconnect.  Try to do anything( or just wait) and you will get the popup saying not connected to WGT do you want to retry. Start a game connected, do anything, such as select game, tee off, then disconnect.  You will get nowhere.  You will get the unexpected error page.  I just did this, so it is fresh in my mind as to what happens  Their are cookies for wgt on your computer, but no software. Flash is installed and has its own cookies.  Flash is software, WGT uses it, it knows if you dont have it.  But that is the WGT program that is sensing that, along with your browser.

Malwarebytes is software, disconnect from the internet and run the program.  It will work as it is software that you downloaded(the program).  You wont be able update it, but you can scan your computer.

Another example, gaming is becoming online only for the most part.  Steam is one of them. I can download my software(that I buy, call of duty is one)on my computer.  Steam will want you to connect to them to play.  You will be given the choice of playing online or offline.  You can play offline singleplayer.  Multiplayer requires you to be online.  Game stats will not update if you choose offline(stats stored by Steam in the cloud)  But you can played disconnected from the internet, provided you installed the game from your software.  You can also buy and download from Steam.  If you do, you will not be able to play disconnected.  Internet download for the game does not put all the required files on your computer to play the game offline.

I know, I know, the disconnect for the meter.  Shows that the meter is rendered on your computer.(that is Flash)(remember, it is installed)  But, does the shot ever happen, NO. Your computer is waiting for instructions from the WGT program as what to do next. Providing you dont time out(you will)when you reconnect the shot takes place.

Also appears we are butting heads on 2 different topics.
