Not much to ask 1 min a Day ?....if 1/2 the Forumites pull together we get the young couple their 'Band of Gold'...

Which incidentally is what Marc should have sang, not, 'Bang a Gong' !  ;-))

    Good luck to them.

Looks like he is in the military too ?.......which branch if may ask out of idle curiosity as usually support that anyway.

Its the Irish Army Jim. Peace keeping force. Hes in the Engineering corps. His old man was a very good friend of my old man, both in the Army also.

My old man was retired after 30 years service, and when he died, this fellas father fought to get the Irish Tri-colour draped on the coffin at his funeral, and i will be forever grateful for that.

Damn good job by his dad.

Added my vote. Anyone who stands up for friends and country is worth a vote and a drink, in my opinion.

And sorry to hear about the loss of your da

    Cheers,

    Peter

Defo Peter. As far as i know, back then you could only have the flag on your coffin if you where in service. Even if you did the service, and died after you retired, you didnt get the flag. Im not sure how it is nowadays, but it shows you that he fought tooth and nail to get it. Respect.

BTW, thanks all who have voted so far.

Ditto. I hate it when places/websites assume everyone in the world is on FB.

    Sorry Two.
