Offer to withdraw

  Just played a game. Started with 3 went to 2.  On K island, hole 17, popped up, would I like to withdraw, because it would take too much to catch up.  Funny thing is, I was ahead at -4 and my other player was at -1.  Well after reading and trying to figure out what was going on, I returned to game, rushed on timer, Put a 150 credit ball in the water and double boogied. Of course it was a water hole.

  If that is a ploy to get in the players head, it worked.  Cost me a ball and moving closer to TM. 

  Question is, is this new, I have never seen it before and I have been WAAAAAY behind before, but I was not even behind.

  I know in MP you (or the other player) can request to drop the game, no idea about stroke play though.  May be a new feature?

  Interesting idea, if your opponent has the option, but surely not a WGT thing.

  It must be WGT, because I just played a 3some and 1 of the players at +4(other guy and I were at -4) said he saw the same thing pop up.  Stroke play

  Apparently an MP strokeplay game with three players first, then reduced to two.

  And, in the "Release Notes" thread, the pop-up has been shown which offers to quit the game when "behind":

  

  Me thinks it has been fooled here, in strokeplay, by the well-known wrong inclusion of the player who has quitted before. Apparently that fault hasn't been fixed yet, so he will be shown as the "winner" at the end because he has less strokes than anybody else due to playing less holes, and he might well be up with a significant margin, thus the withdrawal offer to those who are still in the game.

  Me thinks this pop-up is meant to lead players into the "right" direction of quitting, but it ended up as just another badly executed thought...

  I think he meant, it started with 3 players then went to 2 players in a strokeplay round.
