    SweetiePie:

When I purchase 4 & 1/2 dots of distance, I expect to notice a change. I see nothing, maybe shorter. For me, the balls are garbage.

They are maybe 4/5 yards extra with long irons, my driver goes 270 yards before bouncing, but remember, if you give a bit of backspin it will cancel out the yardage gain..i.e my 105 yard wedge goes 107/108 yards without backspin, but if i give it full backspin it only goes 102/103.  I've realised if i'm using 3 dot backspin then the distance will be 3 yards shorter, half way backspin 1.5 yards shorter (roughly + with wedges) but using b/spin will make irons also go shorter, without b/spin my 190 yard iron goes 195 (depending on terrain), but if i use a touch of b/spin it will only go say 186/187.  So any b/spin will cancellout totaly the yardage gains of your balls.

But some shots with wedges i get  a yard or 2 b/spin, then when i least expect it i get 4 yards backspin.  Used to think they were the best balls out there...(PITY ABOUT PRICE!!!!), but having gone back to legend gis's forgot what i was missing.  Meter is much more smooth ALWAYS, Bollox is right, a missed ding with legend balls doesn't matter that much, but a slightly off ding with Callaways go miles wide. I think i'll go back to buying 2 packs of legend balls to 1 Callaway, 6 balls will last longer than 3 even with 1.5 notch depreciation compared to callaways 2, so 6 wil last longer than 3!

Personally i think there's a bug with the callaway balls that effect the meter, because the comparison between the gi2 legend ones and Callway are very noticable.  There's something not quit right about what they do to the meter.

I am with Lily on this one.  I have tried these balls and they are very inconsistent on iron shots.  Admittedly they add a little distance off the tee and spin well on chips, flops, etc. but I have hit 175 yard iron shots that come up 10 yards short with them.  The wind seems to effect them more than other balls as well, all in all not worth it.

Those balls suck. They reduce the club's forgiveness, roll back to outside of the green, take away some yardage with backspin and are hazard magnets.

As I'm not a Legend I stick with Tour SD.

I agree Gambit. And I am a Legend and stick with the Tour-SD golf ball as well.
