    Thanks WGT.

It's probably too much to ask, but do you think you could cut the variations (VEM) back a bit for the weekend?  Its really difficult to evaluate a club when you've got 20 mph tailwinds cutting (yes, cutting!!) 10% off your club distance.

    Thank you.

Always appreciated, so thanks WGT and DB for the announcement.

I thought I would wait till it is nearly over before posting, as I did not want to be seen as negative.

Personally I tried one putter.....a lower level one with a slower meter, but tried it for 3 holes and knew it would be a step backwards, so I un-equipped it.

So my point is when a player gets into the mid-ninety levels (or some reasonably high level), there is very little to look forward to, and certainly is not an incentive to churn out a ridiculous amount of rounds to get to the next level a new club becomes available.

My point is you lose out on revenue - a player like me would have tried the Level 101 Nike Putter...and probably bought it........so it will take me a year, probably more, for me to be eligible. So I will simply not buy it.

I understand why equipment is level based, and this works from a business perspective in the lower levels but it actually backfires the higher a player goes.

That said, I also think rental clubs should only be available in practice mode, but that is not my point and open to debate (as is tier based clubs at higher tiers).

So when WGT crunch their numbers on sales over the weekend.....they should also do their analysis on dollars spent vs the number of players in tiers over 95 - perhaps they should factor in the lost sales for those players who had little or nothing to buy.

Also bear in mind, many players over this level do like new toys. I am not asking for more clubs, as simply altering the attributes will appeal to more players, but the availability could encourage more sales.

    Spot on Alan.

I would purchase new equipment in a second, even if a driver (for ex.) cost $40 or $50 bucks. As long as I know Im purchasing a top of the line club that is compatible with everyone else but the way WGT has it set up I will NEVER, EVER be able to purchase top ranking equipment - NEVER

This said and speaking solely for myself, Im happy with the equipment I have. I do not play to compete anymore. Years ago I played to compete and win tournaments. NOW - I just bang it around and pass some time. As for leveling up to the upper 90's and breaking the 100 level, I just simple do not have the time nor the drive to level up that high.

Which now brings me back to the point Al made. WGT would definitely increase revenue if it made it a bit easier for guys / gals like me (L 95, 96, 97) to purchase higher quality equipment based on our years playing the game or based on some other terms and conditions.

Thanks Al. You made a GREAT point.

Cheers, but I really wanted to highlight the fact WGT is all about creating revenue.....the clashes, passes and equipment (especially balls) but in this case I think they are shooting themselves in the foot.

I looked at 10 friends between level 95 and 100 - about half have expressed in the past they would like something else......and most of those will have the credits they are willing to spend or put into the game. So if even 2 of that bunch wanted to upgrade...that is $80 to $100 potentially lost.

Small sample........but you get the picture.

I will never compete with the best, and play for enjoyment, but like in real golf, I can buy any club I want. I understand the business model, but I think there is a point at which this model does not work effectively and it needs a re-think.

    Seems logical....and, yet...

I've been here for a mere 3 years, yet I can remember when the only clubs available above Level 80 were the G20 woods and irons at L81-83, the R11 woods & irons at L84-90, the R11S woods at, what, L95(?), the ATV wedges at L86-90, and the R1 driver at L98.  Then, over the space of a year, the lineup was filled out to close to what it is now.

Since then, changes have been few and far between.  I can't help but wonder if the revenue generated from that year-long barrage of new releases was far less than anticipated (excepting, of course, the L93 black R1).  That would certainly explain the relative dearth of new upper-level equipment since.
