Think all the op was pointing out was the oddity that you can walk into Dick's Sporting Goods and buy 22 dozen Srixons or a set of Ping irons for the same cost but that here, on WGT, you can buy 2 dozen Srixons or a set of Ping  irons for the same cost. Just a harmless inconsequential observation, lol. Just think of it as a great sale price on the irons op!

OK T-P...if thats the case, I will apologize. But it sure wasn't clear...even Wheels seemed a bit confused and he's a lot smarter than I am.

Still, there was no need for the OP to be rude because he didn't like the answers he requested...he could have simply clarified things the way you did.

Actually, I'm in self imposed exile and shouldn't even be involved in these threads...oi vey

If realism is what you're after, then why not price equipment more like the real-world?

Well, I think the simple answer is that they're going for approaching realism in how the game is played and not realism in how much the game costs.

simply suggesting the price scheme more accurately model the real world if WGT wants to boast about being a "real-world" experience.

So, let's get into your thinking, drop the ball prices and introduce real world green fees: 175 GBP for STA, 180 GBP (257 $) for RSG, 495 to 525 $ for PB, phantasy prices for OAK and OLY. Let's also emulate side costs like clothing, transportation, and what about the beer cart girl and the clubhouse?

Please tell me again that you want this kind of accuracy?

    You buy the clubs once.

You buy the balls over and over again.

Do you think it benefits WGT to have disproportionately high prices for balls???

Why do you suppose WGT decide to have high prices for balls as compared to clubs?

If you can answer these questions correctly - then there are no surprises to find the respective prices exactly where they are!

If you don't think there is value here - don't play, or use starters and have free fun.

soz...crawled out of my hole long enough to amend your last statement for accuracy..:)

Hey Walt (KNOCK, KNOCK) is your calculator broken? You say Srixons (RW) are $45/dozen (or $11.25/sleeve) and WGT prices them at $2.25/ sleeve & you think that you're being ripped off? (RW PING) Clubs are $999.00 are being sold for $17.95 and this is a problem??

You're Profile page says that you've been here since 2009 and now you see a problem?  I'd have a problem paying 99,900 credits for a set of Irons but 1795 --- not so much ......

    Play on  - it's entertainment - enjoy!

I wonder if the OP knows that the real world pricing is in dollars and the WGT pricing is in pennies?   ;-)

Now, if we are talking about pricing realism,   my point would be,  why are the Truvis Callaways more expensive than the other Chrome softs when they are priced the same in real life?  Or....The RZN white nikes (L40)  are priced so high when they are so cheap in real life?

But,  it's a game,  and a game that doesn't require you to pay to play and the choice to upgrade clubs and golf balls is up to each player.   Some choose to pay for the top shelf golf balls, others choose cheaper ones.   Based on the amount someone is willing to pay.  I'll gladly continue buying balls if it helps keep the game alive and keeps the game free.

oh,   and wait until we see the new Nike balls here in the WGT world.   I'm sure they will be a lil better than the best ones but cost an extra arm or leg.  :)

Not all...just you.  But I guess you're too slow to notice that it was a REPLY to your post and not a reply to all.

Maybe best in the future then you might try quoting who you are replying to.  Just adding a comment into the topic is not a reply to any certain individual but just a comment.

As you can see my post did not follow yours.  I could have not quoted you and others may wonder who the hell I was making a comment about.

After reading this thread, looks like 'ol Walt may have to post a reply to all...he can't be liking how foolish most responses are making him look..or, he could just type a bunch of responses and we could guess to whom he is directing each one, It will be sort of a game within a game.:)
