Driver change problem

  I still have the beginner set of clubs...the problem is : when I'm on the fairway and the driver is the 205yard drive but when I select the lower yardage driver....the driver hits it 20 yards instead of the proper yardage or even close to the advertised club yardage.

  I think you really need to get to know what clubs hit what distances. Your driver is only good for just that, hitting drives off the tee. Nothing else. There is no lower yardage driver in your bag. There is a 3 wood which is meant to hit longer 2nd shots into the greens. That would be the club next to you driver. If you've ever played a real round of golf you should know this.

  To be precise, you have the Starter clubs - only accounts from before 2012 may have "Beginners" clubs.

  And, please pay some attention to the club names.

  Your driver has 225 yards. 205 yds is the 3WD. The latter is a proper club for long shots from the fairway, and you have to pull the blue meter line fully to the left and hit the "Ding" line ("excellent!") to have a chance for the full yardage. 20 yds indicates a big mistake, either

  - wrong surface (>25%),
  - wrong club,
  - wrong shot type,
  - too little power in the shot,
  - mouseclick too far away from the Ding line.

  eisdrut. WELCOME!  You have stumbled upon the most exhilarating, depressing, costly, frustrating, (sometimes) fun game on the "net". Two of the features, of WGT, that may help you are this "Forum" and the "SEARCH" box on the RH side of the screen >>>>>>>
  
  Your post, correctly, recognizes that you need a  club that will push the ball farther out, but also implies a misunderstanding of the proper use of the various types of clubs (THIS IS NOT FATAL or even critical), if you are willing to do the research and learn what to expect of your equipment
  
  Most of the people who respond to "new peoples (AKA Newbies)" posts will give you pretty good advice(sometimes, "Direct" or BLUNT). Most of these folks are really good people and will be glad to help you but occasionally, somebody is "grumpy" - just ignore that.
  
  Regardless of the "title/name/nomenclature" of the Beginner/Starter equipment offered by WGT, it is the of the same quality that you would buy for a 4 year old just starting. (can we say FREE and can we also say CRAP?)
  
  Truth #1. This game was devised and is operated to provide a profit for those who own it.
  Truth #2. If you live in the USA, you will be given multiple opportunities to earn "Free" Credits to buy better equipment (at the cost of your time).
  Truth #3.  Just because the gear costs more doesn't mean that it is better! (Read the Forum for equipment reviews and when to upgrade).
  Truth #4. Truth #3 notwithstanding (love that word!) just about anything sold in the Pro Shop is better than the "Free Stuff"
  Truth #5. Don't waste money/credits on "high dollar" balls (or those stupid equipment bags).  Until you have the clubs to allow you to employ more expensive balls - you are only fooling yourself when expecting better results with them.
  Truth #6. Drivers work well because the ball is elevated on a tee - generally, they aren't designed to work on fairways.
  Truth #7.  You might want to find & join a Country Club. Club members tend to be quite helpful in teaching new players.
