The message box DOES appear of your profile page, in green, but only when you have messages - leastways, mine did when I tested it.
The Message box on the left remain non-functioning.

Message box to the left is functioning fine here. If the one on top right is green , obviously you have a message , but also , it let's you know the # of unread messages. Thumbs up here WGT.
