    No care too much of a slower meter for a driver.

    99% of missing drives are for a distance too short or long and also bad aiming.

    Anyway all my gears  are rated 3.5, if the driver is 4.0 for sure i will miss more often  the second shot.

    So the quandry continues . To buy or not to buy that is the question .The fact that it can hold its own with the Bertha is a big plus . Its good to know that WGT didnt pull a bait and switch but actually did a good solid programmed club with its own attributes . Guess I will wait a while though as I dont really need it .

    Thanks for the feedback Lily much appreciated . I`ll wait until July and buy it for my birthday gift to me .I will have saved up the credits for it by then instead of going into my main stash .Well off to troll for free credits and have some fun .

    LOL, I started to buy it thinking it was exactly like the Old Nike because it was blue...noticed the slower meter so I passed..

    I have used the BB 287 9 degree and the new TM high loft 289 on every free rental since they came out just looking for a reason to buy something new and I don't see much, if any difference in any of them....I stick with the ugly "red" Nike because I know exactly what it will do...

    I will try the blue Nike when the next free rental comes around ...

    I have been waiting on an assessment from Yankee Jim

    Ain't happening. Unless WGT comes out with another 8 degree driver, I'm sticking with my trusty R1. Loft in a driver is overrated, IMO, when compared to what an 8 degree driver can do on the links courses-SA, RSG and CBay. I have yet to find anywhere where I wished I'd had more loft in my driver. :-)

    This is going to be my next test drive, to pit Jim's R1 magic wand against the Vapor and my Bertha. He has shared many fables about it, seeing is believing ;-}}

    To what end? Longest drive? Knock yourself out, you can have the long drive. Just means I hit the approach first and when I stick it for the gimme, you get to think about how to match it under pressure.  :-)

    Seriously, all the top tier drivers are very close in specs. Not sure why someone would purchase a different one, other than simply as a change. A 2 or 3 yd difference in the yardage won't mean much, either way.

    As you are aware I'm sure, with full B/S that Nike is like hitting a long 9i...the big advantage is you can do things with it on certain courses/holes that get you 20-30 more yrds....if you can do that with the BB it is virtually the same...I tried a few of those shots with the longer TM 289 w/ full B/S and they came up short for me, don't know if it was me or the club.

    So I did as promised. On best of fives, the R1 had 18 drives with a 308.89 ave had a longest drive of 328.14 then moved over to Kiawah F-9 hit 7 drives and averaged 304.89 and a longest of 313.86. It is a good solid performer but hits it lower and has a very lackluster looking head with an off grey-silver-bland look to it. Dull. Nothing about it is exciting, but I suppose if a player hangs at St Andrews or St, George or perhaps Chambers Bay, it might be a kick. It is odd, it is a great driver that performs but does so very low key...it was boring to use for me and it is certainly no Bertha. I played much with the Vapor and it grows on you. The look of it is dazzling, and as I expected, it is sneakin' long, easy to hit ...I believe that very shortly I will put my beloved Bertha in retirement and roll with the beautiful Vapor....I need a change.

    Facts are the R1, Bertha and Vapor are all awesome drivers but the Vapor got to my heart.
