80 yard RTX wedge

  Somehow my 80 yard RTX wedge went 80 yards on the fly from a 30 / 40 lie into an 8 / 10 mph headwind with no elevation change.....WTF ?????    Please someone from WGt explain this crap

  Nothing unusual there, especially with a Nike ball. CGs out of 30-40 and less tend to ignore the lie and create rollout where they would normally stop.

  From the fairway my 80 wedge flies about 81 or 82 with no spin and no wind so how could it fly 80 yards from a 30/40 lie and into 8-10mph headwind......

  It take it you are a gamer and not a real golfer. The kind of shot you are describing happens quite often in real golf. It is called a flyer. We all get them from the roughy in real golf and here as well.

  I couldn't agree more and when WGT finally changed how the ball reacts from rough the game finally became more realistic.

  Only problem is most top players seldom find the rough as driving stats and GIR's are so high in comparison to even the top PGA professionals let alone the average club golfer.

  Yes this is only a game, but at least one part of the game is more realistic.....where numbers alone do not guarantee a perfect result.

  I know what a flyer is......where grass gets between the ball and the face of the club imparting less spin so the ball travels further right......the fact you are suggesting that WGT can simulate a flyer is absolutely ridiculous........being a rep golfer in real life i would swing on a steeper plane to catch as much of the ball as possible.

  WGT don't know enough about golf to simulate anything like a flyer......

  I believe what's happened is because when you are on a 30-40 lie, the hit is not at center ball but using 20% top spin due to rough.

  Ha there fellow golfers I do not have a reply but I do have a question didn't know where eles to ask a question.  is it common for all golf clubs to fly 8-10 yrd less than the distance that is labeled to the club. when I click on the spot my 275 yrd driver only flies 268-270 also mid irons fly less then max distance.

  Also I have played this game for yrs, played with masters. my question is how do they hit long iron shot 150yrd and stop the ball where it drops 6 inches from the hole. all my shots land short, as I said 8-10 yrd then roll past the hole 10 yrds please what am I missing

  The simple answer is better clubs and better balls.

  Better clubs have more spin, as do better balls, therefore it is a lot easier to stop the ball.
