You're not confusing it with the shot pal are you?
I can only assume that the putter pal has actual percentages written on it, unlike the shot pal which hasn't, is because the relationship between the power applied to the putt, and the distance the ball will travel, is linear. Which isn't the case with all other clubs which utilise the shot pal.
