Really really exciting news for the future of WGT. Could mean the start of a lot of good things to come.

The press release also mentioned the PGA Tour so does that mean EA Sports lost the exclusive contract with the PGA Tour?? If so that could open up the TPC courses like Saw Grass to be on WGT.

    From the press release :

"PGA TOUR Commissioner Tim Finchem, LPGA Commissioner Michael Whan and TEG Co-Chairman/CEO Erik Anderson outlined four primary areas of focus during a press conference at TPC Sawgrass, site of this week’s PLAYERS Championship. Those are: linking PGA TOUR and LPGA tournament activities to local Topgolf venues; reciprocal distribution of content from both Tours through Topgolf platforms; Grow the Game initiatives supported by Topgolf® venues; and exploring opportunities for PGA TOUR and LPGA-related experiences on the World Golf Tour (WGT) digital game."

"WGT Integration: Earlier this year, Topgolf acquired sports gaming company WGT, the leading web and mobile golf game with more than 14 million players worldwide. Recognizing WGT’s leading position in the virtual game space with long-standing partners such as the USGA and their jointly marketed Virtual U S. Open, the PGA TOUR and LPGA will explore mutually beneficial opportunities with the WGT game."

Sounds positive, optimistic & all that good stuff but I will believe it when I see it.

This seems like great news. I hope we see something come from it sooner than later.

What benefit comes from aligning with the LPGA?

Well, with the LPGA courses that we get, you will be teeing off from the ladies tees. LOL

Fat chance we get any new courses out of the PGA or LPGA ... the announced Whistling Straights CTTH track never appeared did it? The "road to the PGA championship" was also dismantled after one event on Valhalla last year ...

I think their time would be better spent repairing the thousand glitches and bugs they have infected the system with since they got the idea of "improving" the game back in January of 2015 ... once they can get the system platform into a state of stability, then they can add new courses.

By the way, we didn't get the announced 3rd set of pins on Oakmont either ... pfffftttt ....

I'm starting to think like Alosso now ... They are WGT ... hope is futile ....

You're welcome Don - this has been my status for ages now!

I appreciate that there ARE changes - Pebble Beach DID arrive eventually, but, in these trecky words, the year-long hoping for it was futile. I have no hope for any repair, either.

From Dante's Inferno - written slightly before WGT, but applies perfectly...

A bit naive ? Then again you are mr opposit.

It will not change a thing, it is still a flash based game, and flash based shots.

For a perfect meter I still need to clear pr. 9 holes on chrome based browsers
