Falling average (repetitive topic I apologise)

    I've been reading up on how the averages are calculated and thought I'd got the jist (minimum rounds at each level, saturation points, etc.) but I was confused by the fact that I just hit level 70 and my average dropped from 64.4ish to 63.5 without me actually having done anything.

    I didn't think the average had anything to do with level so was a touch confused.

    Not a complaint, but just wondering why.

    Reaching a new level should not change your average.  I know there are some occasional  issues or glitches when players cross a level threshold, e.g. not having level privileges catch up with experience points.  So maybe the match results that you played the same day near level 70 "caught up" with your new level standing after simply re-starting your browser or something.  -Keith

    As keidan said, the level has nothing to do with it.

    But, you, a TM, beat a Legend in a match, and this may drop your average big time.
    I once experiented -0.7. Winning credits in tournaments may also push you closer to the threshold.

    It won't happen again when you're a Legend.

    Thanks for the replies, I guess the real answer is that I should carry on playing and not really worry about it.

     

    Just that it seems other things can drop the average but it's not quite certain. I'm happy with that.

    The "things" that I told you are certain, just the amount of impact isn't. Big mystery cover provided by WGT.
