WGT Game on CD!

  Would it be possible for WGT to make the game available on CD so one could install the guts on their personal computer? Then when updates (courses, equip, etc) become available you download the update online?

  Maybe I'm missing something but it sure seems the game would run so much better if we had the bulk of the game on our own machines. This is basically how XBox, PS3 and others work, correct?

  Hi,

  this game is specifically designed to be played online from anywhere, so I doubt we will offer it on CD.

  That's too bad. I honestly think WGT is missing out of a lot of revenue by not offering the option for the software to be purchased by download or disk. Having the "guts" of the game on the players computer instead of relying on servers, connections, etc. seems like it would reduce a lot of bandwidth resulting in even a more enjoyable game than it already is.

  Then again, maybe I'm way off in my thinking since I'm not tech savvy enough to know if that is possible.

  I, for one, would pay $40 to $50 dollars for the game disk and a few dollars for *major* updates.
