i'd like to get a good set of golf clubs in the game. should I buy one of the club sets or buy each club individually?

which is the best set of clubs to go with?

    cheers & thx

Sooner or later there should be a free rental.  Then you can try our different equipment.

    Hi,

thank you for everyone's input. I posted a new question a few days ago, but dont see it anywhere, so will ask again here:

What do you guys think of the following setup

Wedges TaylorMade ATV 56° Wedge (L38+)

                     TaylorMade ATV 60° Wedge (L39+)

Driver TaylorMade R1 TP 9.0 White Driver (L48+)

Irons  PING G25 Iron Set (Steel) (L59+)

    Putter TaylorMade Ghost Spider (L35)

Lots of good advice on here.  After looking at your stats and your bag. I would suggest first and foremost the 64 degree Cleveland wedge at lvl 31.( I happen to love Cleveland and their 3 wedges are nice and evenly spaced )  The 64 degree wedge has become one of the most important club in my bag.  It will help you with scrambling, sand saves, and approach shots getting you closer to the pin.  Also If you learn to punch and pitch and chip the 64 degree wedge, it will become more like 3 clubs than just one.  Eventually you will want to upgrade to 3 wedges and drop the hybrid club.  The wedges will help improve your scoring far more than the hybrid and as you get better irons, you will notice that the 3 iron is just as effective in most situations. Just look at the bag of any higher rated player and you will see the trend. Beyond that, R-1 lvl 48 driver , Nike Vapor fly 3 wd lvl 51 , G-25 Irons lvl 59 or nike vapor fly at lvl 52. Method putter at lvl 51..  That's a bunch of credits to shell out all at once. Just depends on how fast you want to move up.  I have always been of the opinion that I wanted to best equipment that I could afford.  Don't  forget the ball either.  I used the WGT G13-S at 99 credits a sleeve until I hit legend. I didn't really see the need to spend the credits on the expensive balls till then.  I hope you find this to be of some help.

@seabrookflash - thank you for taking the time to review my stats.

thank you to everyone else contributing to this thread.

So between these 2 wedges, which one would be the better choice?

Cleveland 64° wedge (lvl 31) vs TaylorMade ATV 64° Wedge (Lvl 39)

    thank you!

I prefer the Cleveland wedges because the 64 degree wedge has a range of 60 yards and if I punch it ,it has a range of 50 yards.  I also like the Cleveland 60 degree wedge and the 56 degree Cleveland wedge because they are spaced from 60 yds to 80 yds to 100 yds.  Then the 10 yd pitching wedge which comes with my irons gives me a good amount of choices for whateveer I encounter.  The ATV 64 degree wedge has a range of 50 yards. There are many who prefer the ATV wedges and I don't want to suggest that these are inferior but I have grown accustomed to the Cleveland wedges and would recommend them to anyone

One other thing.  You probably won't see a large benefit of the backspin capabilities of the wedges or any other clubs until you upgrade from starter balls.

I use almost this exact set up & love it. I go back & forth between the L35 Ghost & L55 Rossa constantly. You should see a significant drop in scores!

I've been upgrading as I level up adding the l30+ Cleveland wedges, l51 Nike Method putter, and most recently the l55 TM M1 driver (mostly due to the 4.5 meter).  My scores are getting somewhat better but the game has been much more enjoyable especially since I can now drive more than 230 yds.  I plan to add the l59 ping irons to round out my upgrade from the starters I was using.  I rented the Vapor Fly Hybrid during the Father's Day free rental weekend and noticed it really performed well hitting out of fairway roughs, so I plan on adding that club also.
