I am at level 27.   How long does it take to be get enough credits etc to upgrade equipment?  Am I doing something wrong with the way I am playing.  Practice vs Ranked??  I can't even tell how much credit or whatever I have

Really, it depends. I would log in through a browser and do some surveys, or look at some of the offers that WGT gives credit for. Especially around holidays, sometimes you can get credits for something you were going to buy anyway, or do free trials of things like Amazon prime and just cancel the trial. Between those and loading up on the 2 credit ad videos via the WGT app, you can make a decent amount. (Although WGT has been paring back those vids lately so you can only watch 10-15 a day). You can tell the # of credits in the top left of the browser version (near your name and XP level), or along the top of the mobile app.

"Am I doing something wrong"....that is a loaded question. The starter equipment is not as good as the paid equipment, but you can still play and score decently with it. I would recommend practicing and figuring out how far each club goes with neutral (no) spin, full backspin, 1/2 backspin, etc.  This will help you out a lot in figuring out the club to use for a particular shot. Between that and learning to read greens (takes time and repetition), you should be well on your way. Playing ranked rounds with good opponents that are willing to help you and answer your questions can be very helpful also. I'm happy to answer any questions, and I know others on the forum are much more experienced and better than I am.

Anyone have a putter distance scale for Odyssey Versa on Championship greens? Even after mapping out distance myself, Oakmont is killing me on the greens.

Your credits will be shown top left under and just along from your name.

You can earn credits by watching videos and doing surveys, can be time consuming but better than nothing. Or you can spend money to but credits.

You can upgrade anytime from pro shop, its best not to keep chopping and changing clubs, buy something that will get you through a few levels, as you will have to upgrade as you tier up.

I would just enjoy and earn a few creds and change clubs when around level 40. I didnt do that, instead i bought creds and changed early, guess that is up to you to decide.

Play WGT free tournaments, they are ranked and you will be on leaderboards with fellow tiers so you may win something.......Top 70 win credits.

Tournaments can be found accross top of your screen, good luck

    Great post Bubbs!

And, to make it clear, you'll hardly win any credits from playing unless you upgrade your equipment. My winnings came by chance, every now and then.

To me, the best way to play is to know your budget and spend it for the fun of playing. 10 - 20 bucks per month may be enough, or plenty of time for the videos.

Totally agree with the above posters. Many new players get confused by credits and XP.

The credits can be earned http://www.wgt.com/user/offers.aspx

But prepare for disappointment and the knowledge you will have to write to the offer providers giving proof of what they should have given you.

Paying is the easiest option, if you can afford it.

Earning credits from tournaments......to be blunt is not really going to happen, and certainly not in the volumes you need to upgrade.

Be patient and wait as long as you can before upgrading - the earlier you join the gravy train, the more upgrades and useless purchases you will make.

Of course, if you can afford to upgrade constantly, another matter, but if not, just play away, enjoy the game and learn the different shots and courses - set yourself realistic goals with the equipment you have etc..

Have fun and enjoy the journey.

Thanks for the help.  I have read on the forum about back spin.  How do I do that?

Actually with the clubs and balls that you have you can't do much . But to add back spin pull the dot on the ball at the bottom right of the screen down. But for back spin to work well you have to have clubs and balls with a good spin rating and the starter clubs and the ball you have don't have a good spin rating.

And once you have the clubs and balls to use it, use it sparingly. More shots have been ruined by too much backspin than by none or too little.
