    WGT you're having a laugh right?

    Ready go St Andrews front 9...conditions heavy wind yeah......but surely not all the holes should be 29mph full on headwinds apart from the obligatory 28 mph tail wind on the 8th with pin tight on front of green...come on FFS....give us a break.

    I got a mate to take part and hallelijah the wind direction for him were almost the exact opposite.

    OK so I hit -3 till the fantastic meter stuttered and fko'd my ball into the bushes on the 6th.

    Another ready go abandoned due to ole porky.

    tbe

    Nothing wrong with heavy winds. I'm pissed at the fact I haven't read anywhere about them changing the conditions. I started mine assuming it was standard greens, no surprise my first putt hit the hole and bounced 6 feet in the air, lol....

    Tiffer - did the same thing on KIA B9 in reverse, left first 3 putts short before I figured the greens were fast instead of tourney - hopefully a lesson to only be learned once ;-)

    Although earlier in the thread I said there's nothing wrong with heavy winds, it does however make the ready go more of a lottery than the others. I just played todays and I have to say that I wasn't blessed with the kindest winds on any of the 9 holes. The only hole I had a tail wind was the 8th, +27mph with the pin tucked in at the front. Exactly the wind you do not want to have, lol. A look at your driving statistics once finished is always a good indicator of which way the winds have been facing. I wouldn't mind seeing other players stats from this ready go, although not necessarily todays, just to see if there are any huge discrepancies. Here's mine from earlier;

    As you can see from the average it's pretty low, the longest drive being on the 6th where I got a decent kick forward. The 4th I couldn't reach in 2 with a 3 wood approach. You would normally expect to see a drive of 330+ in there with one tail wind, alas no. In this round I managed a 34.

    I played in todays St Andrews Front 9 Ready Go and the winds were entirely different, far easier on a number of holes. The 4th was a drive and an 8 iron, I drove the 9th. As you can see from the driving stats below, the difference from the above post is huge, 45 yards longer off the tee on average. No surprise that today I shot a 31 compared with yesterdays 34. This particular Ready Go really is a bit of a lottery that you need some luck on;
