Just got bumped to Tour Pro, and I reached L51 at the same time.  I am in the midst of a free rental of the Nike Vapor Fly 3W...and I am unsure of it's value for the credits at my level.  my only other 3W is the 205yd starter.

to add to the mix, I am going to grind through L59 and pick up the Ping G25 iron set, so I will have a 3 iron that goes 210 at that point (and my L48 TM driver goes 275)

for those that have been there.  are the credits on the 3W well spent now, or is saving and grinding through to the L80+ range smarter to get the 3Ws that go north of 240yds?

considerations (all have same 3.5 precision):

    L30 R11 - 395 credits - 227 yds - 4.5 Forgiveness - 3.5 Meter

    L51 Vapor Fly - 896 credits - 235 yds - 4 F - 4 M

    L58 Ping - 545 credits - 235 - 2.5 F - 4 M

I am used to the 3.5 meter with my driver, so that is almost moot.  are the extra credits worth the extra 8 yards?

I don't want to be buying and selling a lot, so your input is greatly appreciated!

If I were you I would take a look at some of the full club sets and then plot a course from there . The plus for you is that there are better club options for you to consider than there were for me when I was at your level . Me personally I would wait until L58+ and then get the Ping G25s . Take your time and build you up some credits from the offers to earn free credits . The videos and some of the offers are very easy . The for pre paid debit cards pay out and all you have to do is apply .

IMO, no. I never owned a 3W until I made Legend. You simply don't need one from the tees you're playing from, especially with those G25s. A good driver, G10s (the old version of the G25s) and 4 wedges was all I ever had.  Space your yardages out evenly with the wedges to meet your irons and use all the shots with them and you'll have the coverage you need to handle anything.  :-)

Wow, surprised to hear that from you. I rented the Nike and after one round ditched my R11s and that miserable BB. I had kept that R11s because it didn't get me in trouble like that BB but the Nike solved the problem. Easy to hit, monster distance (compared to the R11s) and decent holding power.

Thanks for chiming in guys!  I let the Nike rental lapse, and I will plug along for a few weeks until I can get the irons...I'll save my credits for some balls until I see a definite need for a 3W.  I think I simply have some gear envy to deal with! Haha

Sorry to join the thread late, but I agree that at Tour Pro you don't need a 3Wood. You will only use it for your 2nd shots on a Par5, so twice on a 9hole Round. Much better to play Par5`s as 3shotters and go for Birdies rather than the occasional Eagle. Concentrate on your Driver, Irons and Wedges, (particularly your Wedges).

Make a list of your Wedge Yardages, with Full and Punched shots.

Invest in a 3Wood at Tour Master and max out on meter speed and forgiveness, not distance.

    Happy Golfing

Fully agree with Flares and Baker Paul.

As an aside, I used the Max 3 wood for a long time and it is an excellent club. Recently switched over to the Nike level 86 (bit more yardage) and it is also an excellent 3 wood.

So those two choices I would recommend.
