It's funny, when you know what the gig is (our computer has been programmed for you to miss that putt), you know the results before you putt.  Would I sink more putts if I bought that $400 putter?  You bet I would but not because I'd be a better putter.  We all know why.

    RenoRick:

We do not program our games to make players miss their putts. We are always seeking to understand the disparity between the effectiveness of items and our user's ability to take all the provided information into consideration when placing their shots. You can ask anyone in this community and they will tell you that there are players out there who can sink holes with starting equipment. When this occurs, we receive complaints that items that our users pay for aren't effective enough and that they are a waste of money. Its completely about perspective. The truth is that we believe we have found a great balance, but we are constantly striving to improve our system so that we can get closer to identifying our player's skill levels. Hopefully, this answer will clear up any confusion. I am not trying to come down on your opinion whatsoever, in fact its quite the opposite. I am glad that you are sharing your thoughts! :)

Well I guess I better save for the $400 putter then if it truly will help my putting. LOL Unfortunately it isn't the putter that's flawed.

Having glanced at your stats and your equipment might I make a few suggestions. First off get rid of that hybrid and add another wedge, as I see your approach shot avg to pin is over 20 ft. Wedges will help you get closer to the hole and therefore allow your putting avg to go down. Then view the putting tutorials on youtube, they will help you understand putting. There's a few of them out there. Then use course management and play to your strenths, what ever they are. Join a CC and make friends, most everyone in a CC will be glad to help your game, just ask.

Then for good measure, practice, practice, and practice some more. Play 9 hole rounds and take notes. There is no easy FIX for bad putting, but if your willing to learn, there is a lot of help out there for you.

"Has anyone else noticed a nearly new phenomenon in putting with these 'lip-outs?  I've recently been having 3-4 of them for each round I play.

My question:  Am I getting too good at putting and not paying enough money in order to eliminate the lip-outs?  Being very serious, I really believe scores are determined by the amount of money paid to WGT."

That was how you started another thread a couple of days ago, why didn't you continue there?

My question:  If "scores are determined by the amount of money paid to WGT" why do those that pay no money to wgt (quite the reverse) get the best scores?

Unfortunately my putting is or was as bad on my new custom built $500 machine as it was on my $248 Acer from Walmart. And only slightly better than my free with 2 year agreement iPhone. Why is it better than on my free phone??  Can anyone actually putt well on a 6 inch phone screen?

Joys of putting. TBH not that hard if you have a basic understanding of how it works. There are quite a few videos on it on YouTube different methods. Maybe 1 day i might put one up with my method explained with voice over.

I did do a putting video 4 years ago, but made the mistake of uploading it at twice the speed to cut the file size down and did not explain what I was doing.

Ill get onto a new video sometime during the week :)
